PS: ^ Proof that devs still take care about the players even after launch ^ :D
It's pretty cool though, isn't it?
I will mention that the hand rays that sweep to the side are the primary source of damage though. Seems like the ones that fill half the playable area aren't avoidable if you're on the wrong side. =/
The 4 consecutive bosses are not THAT hard but you need a LOT of luck in the previous stages with gear and artifacts (and I mean A LOT, in something like 30 tries I got to the dealer 4 times, got killed every time tho either at the spinning rays or at the king of scales).
A small heal of some sort may be the way to go but I wouldn't make it THAT much easier. It's great the way it is. He's the FINAL boss.
Yeah, except it's a pity you can't change your gear when you encounter a boss battle. I don't know about the final fight being discussed here, but in a normal situation you'd need to run around with it all the time on the off chance you run into a boss.
Which should help increase the odds of drawing the right combat gear and hopefully you'll have some gold to burn to get what you need.
- Forfeit if you don't get "Nymphs of the Sweetwoods" card at the first level!! Going further without that card and getting curse every new level makes you way too vulnerable. If you get "Nymph" card in like level 3 or 4, you're still too weak because the card will take all of your equipments. The chances for better stuff is quite low already. You may want to have "fresh start" from the very beginning. Some may consider this "cheating", but I couldn't think of any other way!
- Equipment you should keep an eye out for;
Thunderstrike: Strong weapon, faster than hammers, great special attack, does damage over time(?)
Hag's Wraps: Each strike slows and weakens your opponents. Probably the best gloves in game.
Skeleton King Helm: A hit on the player gives 25% damage bonus for player's next attack. If you get hit. It can be your benefit for short time. I couldn't find any other useful item for this whole fight.
Time Heals Artefact: Extremely important artefact for this fight! You will eventually get hit in the final boss fight. Never use this before you get to the final boss. If you find it. Save it and equip it before you get to the dealer.
Emperor's Jewel: Important with "Time Heals". 1 free artefact use per combat = 1 extra heal for the fight.
Golden Ring of Pain: 1+ damage per 20 gold. If you get lucky with coins. This is a ring you need to keep with you!
Veteran's Ring: After being hit 3 times by one specific enemy. The player will cause double damage on the enemy. This is really helpful against enemies that may hit you multiple times. Get rid of the trouble faster.
Emergency Ring: If you reach 0 health, you will use your food to get more health. So try to take as much food as possible with you to the dealer. Sometimes it can be too late to use "Time Heals" artefact to get your health back. Emergency ring will give you second chance.
The selections of armors are wide. Personally I used Berserker Armour to cause as much damage as possible.
Don't forget QTE stuff that comes in the fight! Oh my god I was furious when I was killed by first QTE, because I wasn't expecting such thing to happen!
