the Dealer (spoiler warning)
SO i barely get to the dealer's final boss fight.

ONE day i finally figured it out and got to the dealer himself and realized this.

HE summons the jack/queen and king of dust. to fight in one go.

and will do so for skulls/plague's and scales.

IT took me 20+ tries to reach him and now i gotta do all the bosses again?

IF you had ♥♥♥♥ luck with curses you can easily get there with less then max 80hp.

I only gotten to him once and i died at the hand of king of skulls.

please tell me you can regain some hp somehow during this boss fight because otherwise it is just BRUTAL.

if not i'd appreciate it if people could share some tactics

if you run the "time heals" you can heal up to 3 times to the hp you had when you entered the encounter ,
I just beat the dealer a few minutes ago with that and the armor that makes you immune for a sec every 5 sec and a huge hammer + a ring which give 3 dmg per curse
In the end i had 2 charges left and 30-40 hp left

You do not gain health unfortunately. I actually was sort of lucky before my final fight against him, in that I had 110 health. A ♥♥♥♥ ton of curses too, but all of which didn't affect me in combat. Such as "when finishing a combat, lose 1 gold per 15 health" type curses.

So since I had so many curses I bought a Occult Ring (+3 Damage per curse) right before the boss to help jack up my damage. From memory I think it increased my damage by 21. I also purchased a Rat Cleaver since I personally have a lot of trouble with the King of Plague. The last thing I got was the Time Heals artifact in case my health got really low during the fight (which it did).

That's personally how I beat the dealer. Hope that helps somewhat if RNG is on your side lol.

Good luck man.

I beat the dealer in first run with him, hardly got hit by any boss. Learning the attack cycles of the bosses make them rather easy and all you have to do is hit dodge a lot.
Wally Feb 24, 2015 @ 1:27pm
Blood Crescent + Times Heals made the fight trival as hell.
Dust? Oh king dead instantly, beat down prince, kill queen with ability. Reset HP
Skulls? King dead instantly, repeat
Scales? King dead instantly, repeat.
Quite lucky combination, but makes the fight rather easy.

I was really hoping we would actually "fight" the dealer...or a mini-dealer.
Also he said "Ah, one more for the game" at the end of mine. Left me rather confused

i have had little to no luck when it comes to getting the items. rings of the occult is not yet unlocked. i have seen the -10 max hp curse WAY more then i'd like.

in generall i barely gotten around to getting any propper gear let alone trinkets with my rng luck
Kharney Feb 24, 2015 @ 2:14pm
I took me around 7 -10 tries but I finally did it. THe other posters were right, Time Heals makes the fight trivial as hell. Also if you get nymphs on the first level it makes the dungeon even easier.

A lot of luck is involved like the rest of the fights. Just gotta get to the fight with as few curses and as many pieces of good gear as possible.

Now that you mention it, the finisher ability really *does* seem like a good way.
I just managed to defeat the dealer in battle of attrition. The Immovable Object made me tough as hell and the Sword of the Skeleton King was THE crucial item for me with the constant life leech keeping me mostly fresh. I had Emperrors Juwel + Lighting Strike artifact, granting me 8x lighting attack which I saved for Rats and Lizards. Plus the antler helmet for moar damage against the last three bosses.

Fortunately, the life leech combined with the Healers Ring (every time you get healed you get gold) + Mercenary Contract with Emperrors Juwel (one free artifact use in each combat) made me rich enough to afford removing all the trivial curses. The battle was still brutal because right on the last level I got "Blunted Aura" which reduced my damage pretty hefty with no way to remove it. Bloody long battle, but managed to outlast old clothface.

In that run, I was mostly lucky and many things worked together like a clockwork - yet the final boss was still tough as hell...

I believe that voice is supposed to be the player's voice. The Dealer has several bits of dialogue hinting that he took his role from someone who came before him. He also says a few things about the player becoming his replacement, which is also reflected in the way he transfers his powerful artifacts to the player. Therefore it makes sense that the player becomes the new Dealer when he defeats the old one, so it's you saying that line at the end.

Nymphs of the Sweetwoods. That is all.
Kirby Mar 6, 2016 @ 9:56am
Nymphs of the Sweetwoods is only available on Easy mode.. some of the comments/advice for this are pretty old, they have since taken some of these cards out or nerfed them.

I beat the dealer by getting the Soul Gem card which got rid of the ridiculous curse.. and then i had a lucky run and got the Time Heal artifact, the Rat Cleaver for 2x dmg to rats, the lizard helm for 2x dmg to lizards, heavy armor, hags wraps and Innocence shield.. oh and an Emergency Ring which is huge...the ring makes it so if you go to 0 health, instead all of your food is converted into health.. i had i think 6 or 8 food, and when this ring triggered I went from 0 to 40... very useful for a final boss fight!

So for the boss fights i had 2x dmg against the Rats which IMO is the hardest of the 4 boss fights, and 2x dmg against the Scales boss..

DUST BOSSES:
This is fairly easy.. just take out the king first but remember that after 3 hits he will counter attack you and its uniterruptable.. so hit him 2-3 times, then roll away.. he will continusouly heal the others until he's dead so always best to get him out of the way first...
the Jack of Dust sort of just chases you around slowly and will try to wind up big hits, but hes easy to avoid..
and the queen of dust you just save her for last.. when you attack her, she will counter after 2-3 hits with a big swing, then her next counter is a 4 move combo.. just steer clear of her for the full 4 move combo since its unintteruptable

SKULL BOSSES:
These are probably 2nd hardest after the Rats IMO... you have to kill Jack of Skulls first, since he will ressurrect the other bosses if you kill them.. I lucked out for this fight because i had a curse card that gave enemies a chance to drop bombs when they die.. so the skeletons who would die from my hits, or the boss hits, would then drop bombs and explode for more dmg.. often times the skeletons would all wipe each other out because of this..

Jack is easy to kill.. just watch for his counter attack, roll away, then go back to bashing him
Queen is easy as well... take out her skeleton totem first, then her.. she dies fairly quickly and only uses ranged attacks against you

Queen is easy.. she just has 2 moves that are easily avoidable. she loads her musket and shoots at you, so you can counter or dodge that.. then she lofts a grenade in your direction, which is easy to roll away from and it often does damage to the other skeletons.. she dies quickly

King i save for last because you can almost never interrupt him .. just hit him 2-3 times and jump away.. he will either do a big swing at you, wave his sword to ressurect his skeletons, or he will point his shield and shoot a green beam, rotating fairly slowly.. when hes shooting that beam is the best time to get a bunch of hits on him.., that and when hes resurrecting skeletons

RAT BOSSES
This one is a ♥♥♥♥♥... they all come after you hard the entire fight, and if they get you in their combos they all chain together and can really do a lot of damage if you arent careful.. my method for this was to take out the little pod that spits poison first.. then i take out the queen because shes got lower hps and that ranged attack of hers is deadly if it hits..

Queen shoots a blue projectile and if it hits you, it drags you slowly to her doing damage.. then she dropkicks you in your face after you get to her.. and the other bosses are pursuing you while this is happening, so they sometimes get a lot of damage in on you as well

Jack is easy to kill also.. he will supercharge himself which you can see from a yellowish glow of energy surrounding him and he will go into a multiple move combo in your direction.. then after it finishes he will do the same combo a 2nd time.. after the 2nd combo, he will be exchausted and sit there stunned... that is your window to kill him/inflict the most damage

King is annoying... his 3 moves are
1) Teleports above you, and if you dont move quickly he lands and pins you to the ground and does a lot of dmg.. you must avoid this move...
2) he transforms into 3 clones of himself in a triangle around you, and 2 of the clones will move in a straight line towards the clone that is closest to you... when they collide with you they will drag you to the center meeting location for extra damage... it adds up to quite a bit of damage, even when i was using heavy armor
3) similar to queen of dust, he will enter a rampage and do a multiple combo (i think 3 total moves) in your direction, the last move in the combo has like double the range too so be careful of that..

He does these 3 moves in order, over and over again.. you can only ever hit him around 3 times before he enters into these movies.. having the rat cleaver will help you a TON..

SCALES BOSSES:
This one I use to think was impossible, but after fighting him so many times i have the hang of how to avoid them and can kill this boss fight without much difficulty... thing is, these bosses do a TON of damage, so avoiding their moves is the HIGHEST PRIORITY.. The kings massive tail swing does like 20 damage on heavy armor..

King is first..he makes the other bosses invincible until he dies.. so obviously you gotta take him out first... he has 3 moves...
1) is where he slams his shield into the ground, then pulsates 3-4 times in a cone area that does like 6 damage on heavy armor.. it has quite a bit of range too so its best to avoid this by rolling to the side, outside of the cone.. but if you're far enough away to start, you can also roll away from his and get out of the range of the cone... when he does this move, its an opportune time to get behind him and get some damage in
2) He winds up and does a massive swing of his sword that gets him stuck in the ground... this is a perfect opportunity to get damage in on him while hes stuck
3) He winds up a massive tail swing that hits in a large radius... you gotta avoid this move because it does a TON of damage..

I do queen 2nd... I take out her little skeleton totem thing first, since it dies fairly quickly and throws long flames on the ground that can add up damage... she shoots ranged attacks at you.. and be careful, because after you hit her 3 times, she pretty quickly will shoot fire out of her mouth and hit you for some good damage... you can only ever get about 3 hits on her before you have to roll.. ALWAYS ROLL TO THE SIDE OF HER, dont roll directly away from her because her projectile will still hit you.

Last is the Jack of scales.. hes pretty easy.. you can stun him, shield bash him, etc..like most bosses, you hit him 2-3 times and he will go for a counter attack swing that does good dmg.. he also has a move where he points his tail out and smashes the ground 2-3 times with it, each one doing good damage.. hes one of of the easiest bosses in the game IMO.. very predictable, pretty slow moving...

FINAL PHASE!
So after you kill the scale bosses... IMMEDIATELY after killing the final scale, like while the animation of their dead corpse is still falling to the ground, the dealer will do his angry slam the table move that covers a lot of area... its really hard to do, but try to anticipate this as you're killing the final scale boss, because it does a good amount of dmg..

When he goes to do his laser move in this final round, it does a lot of damage.. you have to be prepared for the 90 degree rotation of this... the fiirst time he does it, the lasers will rotate counter clockwise.. so you will need to start on the far left of the screen and slowly move right with the beams in order to not get hit... same goes for the 2nd time he does it, only this time you need to start on the far right of the screen and move left... IF YOU DON'T START ON THE FAR RIGHT/LEFT OF THE SCREEN FOR THAT LASER ROUND, IT WILL HIT YOU AND DO MASSIVE DMG.. Believe me... i died on this part and almost threw my xbox controller thru the TV screen lol...

Then it ends with him sending one last fireball at you.. which are super easy to counter.. you just Spam the Y button and you will counter it every time.. the only time you should ever die to this move is the VERY FIRST TIME he does it to you... i wasnt prepared for it the first time and died.. but it was super simple to avoid after that

Anyways... good luck everyone... what i really love about this game is that its super challenging, even on normal mode.. although it can be incredibly frustrating with some of the RNG you get, it can also be very fun and rewarding when you get super OP combos of items... its definitely a fun card dungeon crawler.. ive recommended it to a bunch of my friends and one of them just started it last night for the first time.. Really glad this became available as a free game with Xbox live, im not sure if i would have went out of my way on my own without ever hearing about this game from a friend etc and got it... but when it went up on xbox live as a free game, along with Styx.. i downloaded it and gave it a shot.. man, was I not disappointed!

You have to have a shield I think to do the deflection? I never had a problem deflecting the fireball, I don't even think you have to really time it, i remember just spamming the reflect button over and over and it worked..

Dodging the fireball wont do anything, you need to deflect it back and hit him with his own fireball so that hes stunned and you can run up to him and do tons of damage while he's unconscious

Actually the one time I beat the dealer, I had a pretty bad run. Fine blade, medium armor, shield. Only combat advantage I had was the shamless poison and the herne's helm.

I mean you can heal with skeleton king sword but that's unreliable as you only get 3 hp per use(assuming you hit all three). I would say to focus on being mobile and take your time fighting each one. Divide and conquer and focus on one at a time. Hit and move like Little Mac.

Been playing the story levels on warlord and reached the dealer for the first time (i thought iwas gonna reach him a couple of games before but the secret society card killed me).

Time Heals is an amazing artefact to have.. even with it i beat him with only 13 health left.
I took 3 hits from the laser moves he had at the end because i didn't know what was coming and wasn't between the lasers when it started. Strangely the time heals card doesn't work as advertised. It doesn't put your health back to the amount you started with but instead puts it to the highest health you had during the fight.

Also made the mistake of not killing the king of scales first, forgetting about his ability. So that fight lasted a lot longer whlist i was confused why nobody was dying. I never figured it out and the king died from attrition.
