Iron hunger fate - How do you smelt?

I've tried the Iron Hunger fate and so far I could never go further than the second floor of any quest without dying from starvation.

I've read around in the forums and people say that items in your inventory can be "smelted" into new ore. It does say that all discarded item should grant ore. But how do you go about doing that? There's not an option in your inventory to actually discard items, and the only way to get rid of cards is to sell them, which does NOT grant ore.

So, how do we turn items into ore?

You need to pick up an item for a slot that is already filled, like a second helm or sword. Then you'll be given the option to smelt either the old or the new item.

So, it kinda works like the nomad fate? Makes sense now, but you really need a lucky start then... Especially if you want to complete the fate's encounters...

The other card you should be on the lookout for is the metal ore and sunken ship cards, as both can grant you a good amount of ore.

Yeah, unfortunately you need a lot of luck if you want to progress with this one. The metal mogul achievement is one of the hardest accoplishments to unlock for good reason. Like the others said, the ore and the sunken ship can be great sources for the ore resource (75 and 15 respectively).

The encounters on this one are very annoying, and you kind of have to rely on finding the Ore card early on (you need to pay 25, 50, and 75 ore for 3 of the 7 encounters)
