Lava golem
After beating the encounter that triggers lava golem cards to appear I find my runs are ending onsiderably sooner. I can beat just one by itself but if you throw anything else in with it I will always loose the encounter.

I play with a mouse and keybord. Perhaps this is the issue?

How do you approach them? I find I have to roll away after 2... maybe 3 hits on one because they'll do some sort of area explosion after that many.

The trick with lava golems is go in, swing until you see them doing a charge animation then run away. They're very tanky mobs, it's not worth the risk of going in swinging wildly hoping it will die before you do. If you get an encounter with a golem and other mobs, focus on the other mobs first, and just keep running from the golem - they move quite slow so you can avoid them.

I think they're the most annoying mob you can draw at the moment, especially early on when you have little equipment.

I look at their animation and try to act accordingly. More often then not if there are 2 in an encouter they tend both do their unblockable attack (1 will AOE and the other dose his overhead hammer with reach) and this messes me up. I've been stuck on the Jack of Scales for two days and this just made it all the harder.

I always lose because of 3-4 golems in a small arena

Maybe the max number of golems should be linked to the arena size? I don't know if it is possible or not, but getting 4 golems on a Deadman's Gorge encounter doesn't feel fun. Even if you manage to survive, you spend most of you time attacking once, then dodge-dodge-dodge attack again dodge-dodge, etc...

I could of course be missing something, but there doesn't seem to be a lot the player can do to interact with the LG's. You can either attack, or retreat because of the unblockable or AoE attack. The attack that is counterable is hard to pull off in a scrum of 4 LG's on a small arena.

i just walk into the lava golem

if i see green i counter and make ~2 hits roll away
if it is red i just walk past him and repeat
or i kite them into traps all day if there are any

It doesn't seem to me that those tactics will wok in a small arena with 4 golems. Often no traps, and while you are making the second attack the others can hit or AoE you.

only 1 golem is attacking at the same time... the othe golems wont hit you when you counter another golems attack with shield for example - at least not in the same moment

Lava Golem isn't too difficult to handle, they're just annoying because they're so tanky. So you end up running around and rolling around quite a bit.

The key to notice here is that Lava Golem always explode after exactly every three hits. They don't need to be consecutive hits, you can hit them twice then beat the other enemies, then they'll explode after one hit. Also, the timing of Lava Golem allows you to sneak in one more hit after the red indicator appeared but before the Golem actually explodes, this counts as one hit for the next explosion. I don't recommend making this extra hit, as it doesn't make the battle go faster; also, if there are multiple lava golems taking the extra hit will make it harder to keep track of how many hits you still have until the next explosion.

If anything the issue with them is the token. 3x encounters in the same run is pure ♥♥♥♥ game design.

i hate the unblockable hammerhit from them in small areas. the hammerhit seems to hit a pretty large area and it still hits me sometimes when i expect it not to connect.
