Am I supposed to get a token from this encounter? I think I've tried every option, but I haven't unlocked a token from this card.

you have to pay them with a lot of food to get the token (at least i did it this way)

Request something from them, then offer half your gold or food. You must give at least a minimum amount away to unlock the token - I'm unsure as to what this amount is.

Thank you. I thought it was bugged since every time I encountered the card, the dealer never took out a token or said, "You're playing for a token."

You need at least 60 gold, I think, to get the token - someone else said that somewhere. I can confirm that 70 gold is enough for certain, and that 51 gold and 16 food are not.

I just received the token with the option for gold, with a total of 34 gold (17 given to them). I don't know if it matters but I had 30 food as well, so maybe it is the quantity of the both combined that needs to exceed Xamount and then probably you would need to pay with half of the bigger. Either way 34gold was enough for me.
