The problem is you are spawning a shortcut to MAME itself, and not to any specific game.
If you want to use MAME as an OpenWith program (rather than just launching the MAME exe itself) you need to set things up in a little different order.
1. Make sure you have the emulator profile you want ACTIVATED on the Collect Rewards screen.
2. Middle click on an empty spot and spawn a GAME file (not the emulator itself).
3. A grey box will appear where you tell it what type of item your game is, and which program to open it with (choose the emulator from step 1.)
4. Spawn the item and go up and try to launch it.
5. Carefully read the messages on the screen that will guide you through the rest of the setup.
Read the messages carefully because some times it will ask for stuff related to the game, other times it might ask for stuff related to the emulator.
In conclusion, the trick is to create a shortcut to the GAME, and tell AArcade to open that shortcut with your emulator profile.
What if it still can't find it? It says I don't have it downloaded, despite me leading it directly to the file. This happened with a few so far, but others work, and I don't really understand why. If i have a folder for sega genesis games, and another for arcade games, would that throw it off? And what if the emulator and the roms are in different folders, for organization purposes, obviously.
I have troubleshot this issue with many people on PMs, and 90% of the time people just make a simple mistake when specifying one of the following: ROM file location, emulator executable location, emulator's ROM path.
I normally walk the players through doing a reality check on the values that AArcade has stored for these, vs where the files/folders actually exist on the player's PC. During the process, people always get their emulators working properly.
I'll be clearing off some space on my Steam friends list today if you want to add me a bit later to do some personal troubleshooting. The good news is once you get 1 ROM working, the rest of your ROMs for that emulator should work automatically.
