Shimmering on objects / lighting issues
Is there something that causes this weird shimmering effect on certain surfaces and objects? I notice that this happens in lower lighting settings. The example in the video below is from Tape 2. When you zoom in, that effect disappears. I've played with all the settings and reducing Upscaling makes it significantly worse. The video shows my in-game settings. Is there anything else that might be causing this? I have a 3060 RTX. Not sure if my card is dying or something. I should mention that I do occasionally get weird visual artifacts on my desktop. I've suspected my card might be failing. I noticed there was one other thread on this topic, so I wanted to check in and see if this is something that others might be experiencing too so I can rule out my card being the problem.

Turn off upscaling. You really don't need it anyway with a card like that. Not on this game, at least.

Thanks! That did seem to help a bit. I feel like the graphics are slightly worse with DLSS off but maybe it's just in my head. It's a pretty small difference. I guess I thought all cards would benefit from DLSS.

Nah. Nothing beats raw resolution if your machine can handle it. Unfortunately a lot of developers use it to skip on optimisation.. so some games actually need it to run smoothly. You'll always have slightly worse graphics as a result of super sampling. At least with the current technology. Upscaling takes a smaller resolution and fills in the gaps to make it bigger. As it stands, it cannot be perfect but it is improving rapidly.

Thanks for taking the time to explain that to me. I was totally ignorant on what graphics upscaling actually did. After playing a bit longer, I can definitely confirm it looks much better for me without upscaling on
