I did however send the test game i created to a group of online friends. Who said it was running fine for them also.... just my luck.
I dont feel i should waste anymore of your time, as clearly theres not a problem with gameguru......im just missing something with the pc's i have tested on, which is down to me to solve, not you.
Thanks for taking your time to look into this. When i find the cause i will post for future reference.
Indeed, i suppose i can ignore this slight problem really as it doesnt effect anyone else.
Though, in terms of creating with the intention of commercial use. I am still waiting for steam overlay support :) ....... though i am testing out other idea's . As the overlay issue is only caused by adding weapons. But, ill stop there. Thats a totally different thing.
When you edited/created the games, where was the map file saved before creatung the standalone? Was it in the default GameGuru/Files/mapbank ?
The reason i ask is because i have found that if the source map file is not in the mapbank and you create a standalone from it, the standalone created gets random run-time errors.
Hmn, something else to try quickly, in your standalone files folder, delete your titlesbank, then copy your titlesbank from the gameguru files folder into the place it was in your standalone files folder and see if it still errors. i'm wondering if it could be something to do with the standalone encryption, and having an unencrypted version of the titlesbank in there might fix it.
It wont matter ... He downloaded my game and the same happens.
Basically no matter what GG games he tries ( built on his or not ) he gets the same results ...
Sorry it has to be machine related whether its an app conflicting that you have on all 5 of your test machines i have no idea.
My windows 10 pc, had nothing but steam and gameguru installed :/
Verifying, reinstalling GG etc wont help in this situation if it happens to you with other GG standalone games. .. However updating Windows, Graphic Drivers etc might help..
Did the first puzzle, saved it, went to the main menu and clicked on the About button a few times, then loaded the saved game.
Started playing the second puzzle and bam, Runtime Error 501 : Image Number 96008 (loading_main)
@synchromesh, I'll send you a screen shot on discord.
It's so random, 1 moment, click loads of times. No problem, suddenly, first button i click errors, restart and instantly get another run time error.
Aha !!
What resolution were you using as a matter of interest.
would it have been 1280x720 ?
just had an idea but only a theory ... In windows can you check your text scaling is set to 100% ... If not give that a try
must have done 300+ button clicks, no errors at all. Yesterday, constant errors.
Jumped on another pc, got errors. XD
