Game Guru Error : Runtime Error: 0 : Cannot initialize DirectX 11 ()
Hello,
So i'm getting this error Runtime Error: 0 : Cannot initialize DirectX 11 () after reinstalling Game Guru, after a fresh Windows installation. It appears when Game Guru tries to load the map in the editor, and there is only a black screen where the map should be.
I have a DX11 compatible GeForce GPU and running NVIDIA drivers 391.35.
Is there any fix for this issue?

Im not sure this still works

If back in 2015/16 you clicked to reserve your " free W10 upgrade" but never actually got round to putting it on ( which thousands did ) it might still work ...
But the last one i tried that i knew wasnt reserved wanted a key after the upgrade..

Worth a try though if your willing to go through the process

There must be another way.
I need to keep away from newer Windows version than 7, because most of the other software i use isn't compatible.

GG works on Windows 7 just fine ...
We just need to work out why yours isnt ?

Can you try something please.

Press Win+R and in the box that comes up type dxdiag and hit enter. After a while a box will come up which will list your system information, at the bottom of that it will have an entry headed "Direct X version;", what does it say?

The reason i ask is because Windows 7's base DirectX is Direct X 10 not 11, and you may not have DirectX 11 installed, but an updated version of 10.1 which works for most Direct X 11 games.

It's DirectX 11.
I also downloaded and updated the DirectX Runtime and .Net Framework.
Still the same error.

Many thanks, KB2670838 update solved the Runtime Error: 0 : Cannot initialize DirectX 11 (), without needing to install W10.

Russian Russian and Yes, initially this problem was only on the Russian Windows, but then it was fixed, and still, Russia - the country of pirates, and not fans to download the driver, that's why the problem was first discovered by the Russians

Nothing to fix and no way around it ...
Microsoft dont install the required DX11 files in their updates.
So you have to install the platform update manually. However you also need to have a legal fully up to date windows or it wont install .. And a legal version of GameGuru !!

https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=36805

I will give you 24 hours though to get a legal copy of GG..
