Constant crashing

Really, really want to love this program, but am having major crash issues.

1. When opening GG brush resizing doesn't work at all. Can navigate around using wasd, edit terrain, can even paint terrain, but brush resizing buttons won't work. (which is weird because it works in my copy of FPSCR)

2. When pressing the "Help/Editor keyboard shortcuts" the program just freezes, and have to ctrl alt del, end editor process...which refreshes program and it starts working again.

3. Have had "Black screen of death" when exiting 3d editor mode...sometimes. Sometimes it goes back to the main editor...if i'm lucky.

Have reinstalled program multiple times. Have verified steam file integrity. Have saved map files in increments (just to be sure I don't lose my work). Run program as admin. Have rebooted computer multiple times...still getting the "AppHang B1" error message when giving the 3 finger salute.

When it works, it is fantastic! But pretty frustrated at above issues.

Win7 64bit 8gb ram
IntelHD Graphics 4000 (absolutely cannot figure out a way to get the program to run on my AMD HD Radeon 7500/7600 series, will only run on the Intel chip).

Try this ....

Find the SETUP.INI file in the root folder ( typically C:\Program files \ Steam \ SteamApps\ common\Game Guru\ )

change adapterordinal=0 to adapterordinal=1

This should then run your AMD HD Radeon..... Let me know how that works for you ..

Nope. Got a display mode error, then crash (event name BEX). I believe I had tried that before and got the same thing. It does run on the intel (sometimes pretty damn good) but with glitches.

ETA: Pretty much all my other games/progs run fine in high performance mode. Can run Unity, UDK, Cryengine, Skyrim (pretty high settings even), most 3d applications 3ds max, Mayalt, Mudbox, Forester Pro, and some others, I'm pretty stumped.

If you go to the main site and click the Green Help button on the bottom right it will put you directly in contacy with Support who can assist you further .....

@Synchromesh Thanks so much, still working on it. I know the gphx cards can't really be separated now, updated drivers for both getting better framerates. Ran all kinds of malware scans, registry fixes, defrags...etc. But, still having the help menu freeze, and no brush resizing (brush resizing works in 3d edit f9 mode but not when I first open program, and sometimes I've gotten it to work after exiting 3d edit mode but not always)

Also top down/free view buttons f and g don't do anything :/

in the setup.ini try setting this adapterordinal=0 to this adapterordinal=1.

This will force the use of you Secondary card.

See if that makes it better for you. Make sure that GG is shut down when you change this.

@myke1net tried that again, and got the same crash ;/ "BEX" crash and display mode error: W1366IH768D22R40 HAL A=1 P=64 DLDPP=1-1366-768-75-22-1-1-0-263594-0-0--2147483648-3-1 HR=1

Reverting back, won't stop me from using GG though heh, I'm stubborn like that. Even with the glitches I was able to finish my level for the outdoor comp. :D

Thanks for the error code. Did you submit a help on the main site?
That looks like a registry location. Wondering if it is asking for permissions.

Will submit a help later tonight when I get a minute for sure. And it's all good, heh just gives me an excuse to build a new super comp that can make GG scream :)

If you continue to experience these issues with build 028, let me know the exacy keyboard make and model you are using, and if you are using any Windows language packs. Sounds like your keymaps are out. Also, when you say 'freeze in F1 help page', have you tried pressing ESCAPE, LMB and SPACEBAR to exit the help view?

Hey Lee, thanks for the response! I only have English installed, not using any Windows language packs. Yea tried pressing esc, lmb, spacebar...it didn't do anything. Far as I know I am using: Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard with HP QLB. And when I say freeze in help, I mean when I click on the main menu buttons at the top of the program, the "Help" button next to the "Tutorials" button. Then clicking the "Editor Keyboard Shortcuts" button doesn't display anything, but it freezes the editor.
