Can I import Custom Objects, Textures, and Animations?
Can I import Custom Objects, Textures, and Animations from other applications?

This looks pretty neat. I mainly use Blender, 3D Coat, Photoshop, Gimp, Fuse, and ShaderMap.

So I am wondering if I'd be able to import any custom things i've created already for usage?

You can import all our own assets. If you make something in blender, rig it and animate it, you can very easily import it to GameGuru. The model format that is required is .X

I personally use Blender, GIMP, Photoshop and a host of other software for GameGuru. As long as you stick to the correct file formats, you shouldn't come across any issues.

So, the file formats are:

Model - Direct X (.X)
Textures - .dds (Direct Draw Surface)
Audio - WAV or OGG
Scripts - LUA

There is a whole host of shaders available already to choose from.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Jay.

ther is a big problem with importing models, first you can ONLY add .x models, then there is a problem if you want to import, the gameguru crashed...

Most .x models should be fine using the importer but if you do have a problem you can do this manually..

Place your model in a folder with the texture and create an Fpe file then manually copy this into the entities folder.....At this time GameGuru only supports .X However more formats are likely to be added as GameGuru Develops ..

i still don't see how to use custom textures for painting in the editor, as far as i can see. there are only 4 to choose from. not talking about changing the set when testing.

You can create your own terrain sets by making a new folder in the terrain bank but you will still be limited to four textures to blend between. Currently, the map size is not massive, so there is only one biome available to you at a time. As development continues, you may see the options expand if it's something the community really wants to see.

that's fine, but an option to just even replace one of the four textures would be better. some people get confused when told to make a folder and add your own etc.

If you go into testgame and bring up the metrics and world settings " Tab" you can select an assortment of different terrains, Skies etc ... you will then have new paint features for each terrain you use

Adding new icons to your editor is a great idea .... i will pass it on but if i remember correctly this is already being considered for the future ..

yes, i know, i've been told that before. you're not getting the point. i for one would like to use my own textures, load them in, if and when i need them. paint my terrain the way i want, with the textures i choose.

Well it is possible .... The store already has some that have been made by the community members like these..
