Until you unlock the heater module, best thing is to stay inside a station or building during the storms. The first storm hit when you travel from station S73 (first station) to S72, with barely enough time to reach the station. So to shelter from the first storm just go as fast as possible to the second station as soon the help pop-up tell you about the storms. From there, you can hop from station to station with proper timing: in each station there is info about when the next storm will hit, just check the screens.
thanks i'll wait for the perfect timing next time i move so i don't restart again

In the current state of the game, storms hit every 20 minutes (real time and game time) and last 5 minutes; so it is 15 minutes calm, 5 minutes storm, rinse and repeat. So even with a RL watch it is relatively easy to track.

I remember how we complained about storms lasting way too long (and being so frequent) like year ago? but dev decided that this is The Idea that storms are to be boring pain in the ass. So it's not going to change.

Since the initial demo builds, we've implemented numerous changes, including reduced storm durations, difficulty levels, and new modules to aid you during storms. For example, the Extraction Beam allows you to safely gather resources from your train during the storm. Please be aware that not all of these are in the demo. We will also continue to use community feedback to improve the game further, so please share your thoughts and suggestions.

Weather becomes a non-issue once you get to the first or second station in chapter 1, depending on difficulty. I think weather should be an opportunity. Dangerous to travel in, but no drone attacks. Maybe add the possibility to derail in more dangerous storms...

Or maybe force you to stop the train or go below certain speed.

Please no, don't tell me that derailing (1 of the most frustrating parts of any train game) is really a feature / function in Heat Death: Survival Train?

While not currently in the game, we're considering adding it as a hard difficulty feature in future chapters.

Is your team also considering the opposite part of such possible game feature where we are allowed to put our trains on the railroad again (=> rerailing feature) or do you maybe plan to implement an anti-derail device as a train module / upgrade for our train/s which could avoid any amount of derailings?

Honestly the worst part of this game for new players is the pick what you want research path. if your late on the gun to shoot drones, or the heater your going to have a bad time. These 2 should be mandatory to improve the first opinion of new players. i hated this game on run 1, but with how slow content has been coming i restarted and it all went much better, however still no content and i wasted 45 mins backtracking to the solar fields only to find out its literally empty only to ALT 4 cause no reason to continue that saved as i burned thru half my saved fuel to back track. Ill forsure return to this game in the future but holy heck got it back in december and barely anything has changed in terms of length.

Derailment of the train = game over? Or will it be possible, for example, to build a new train, transfer all modules and boxes to it, and dismantle the remains of the old train using a extraction beam ?
