That Forcefield is the end of the current released content.
During Demo, that barrier was in the tunnel in which u needed to reconnect power to open the gate just before the chapter started.

This game is in it`s early access stage. Looking at the game info in library the game shows last update 0.3.0m Meaning the game should be in it`s ful released stage at update 1.0
Normaly these types of early access games release updates while the game is being developed. So normaly a update with new content 2-4 weeks or maybe couple of month at a time depending how much theyr adding to the new updates.
