Agreed, I don't want to make the game anything that it is not meant to be. However, I don't think most of these features would add much time or bloat to it, but certainly needs to be considered which I am sure Bill will do what's best for his vision.
Thanks Bill...any chance we could "pin" this thread to the top so it doesn't get lost?
1) On league screen where it shows this/last week's score, would be nice if you could also scroll through all previous week's scores. Sometimes have wanted to look back and see how another team did.
2) On the league screen, provide a way to show the schedule and results for the CPU teams. For example, click on their name and their schedule and results show up. I have been wanting to do this especially to see how some of the teams are undefeated and who they beat.
With seconds to go on the clock, and in desperation, the player gets one deal to attempt 2 matches. If successful, a text event is triggered that is influenced by weather, human team passing rating and AI team passing defence.
I would say the only other suggestion I have is Workshop support. I know some of us could come up with some amazing mods as well as an easier way to download team files.
I have no CLUE how difficult this would be though.
Oh and achievements and trading cards. :)
The latter appears to be some sort of forfeiture of the entire play, and I have no clue what's causing that.
It wouldn't take up much extra space in the help section, and even a few added terms would ease the learning curve a bit and perhaps more importantly make the text event commentary more meaningful. It loses it's impact a bit when you don't understand what it's saying and what if any impact it has on the play.
Along those lines, I would like to be able to see what the CPU has called as far as runs vs passes.
I am horrible at defensive play calling and being able to see the CPU play calling history at any time during the game could help me a lot!
Since on a running play it only requires one match, the odds of success are very good in short 4th down situations. In fact, in those cases, I will always go for it and I don't think I have been stopped yet. Really kills the AI's momentum when they march down the field and not take advantage of those situations. In today's NFL, coaches are becoming more inclinded to go for it then, even if still in the first half. I think if they would have gone for it, some of my games would have been closer and I probably would have lost a few more.
It also seems late in the game the AI gives up if they believe they can't win because the score gap is high. But I have seen them do this when score is something like 28-10 in the 4th quarter and its still early in that quarter. I really think they should go all out until it is a complete blowout. I have seen them punt in these situations where in my opinion they should be trying a little harder to score. With the onside kick in play, you just never know.
Oooh! Good one! I'll actually be surprised if Bill hadn't thought of that and it's not already under the hood, but excellent observation all the same.
