The best RPG maker game on Steam?
I haven't started the game yet but I have to say I'm already impressed, good trailer, boasting good lenght for an rpg vs the 6-10 hours of others, has steam cloud, cards, achivements, devs who respond. I have high hopes for this one.

I'd definately say yes, this is the one ranking highest for me by some marigin thus far (out of those that I have played 3-5 ones in total)

Edit: as a bonus an expansion is coming to this one as well, and Last Dream 2 will happen too. So that really elevates things as well

I have to say yes, although the upcoming Doom & Destiny was another one of my favorite titles when I played it on 360's Indie Arcade a couple years back.

I recall my first 100% playthrough taking something like 60 hours in that game, and had a blast the entire way through.

Last Dream is an excellent game by any objective standard, not just as "an RPG Maker game". Imagine all the best aspects of JRPGs during the 8 and 16-bit eras distilled into a single title and you've got some idea of what to expect. I'd seriously take this game over a majority of the AAA blockbusters (most of Bioware's recent output, Square's newer offerings, etc) on Steam, no joke.

The devs are absolute class acts, too.

Last dream > C'thulu > Skyborn > Breath of Death, from the ones I've played.

Skyborn was a pleasant surprise, yes. It didn't do a single thing that was particularly noteworthy in terms of gameplay, but the writing was excellent.

I'm fairly sure Cthulhu and Breath of Death weren't actually made in RPG Maker. They just look a bit like they were. They were actually made in XNA.

Quoted for truth. This is correct!

Skyborn is my favorite...
The main problem I have with last dream is the inability to change certain controls.
Skyborn eliminated that problem easily since the entire game can be played with mouse if you want and with no random battles you don't need to worry about accidentally clicking somewhere and fighting something it also allows you the freedom to backtrack as many times as you like.
