Lost Saga is/has a virus?

Everytime I download the game, just as it's finished and ready to install, this program gets blocked, and for good reasons as it's telling me.
"f:\LostSaga\lost saga\lostsagasetup150812.exe" is being brought up as a "Trojan.Gen.SMH.2" with the severity being High.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I am also asking this on Lost Saga's forum and submitted a ticket.
It is actually worse, however, when I attempt to download Lost Saga on Steam due to the fact that my anti-virus has me re-booting my computer to get rid of said virus.

Well, let's consider the two possible situations here:

-Someone hacked into Z8's server, took the installer, infected it, and then re-uploaded it to the server.

-It's a false positive.

Which sounds more likely to you?

From the day "TownPortal.dll" became an issue, to the day people were getting Trojans through Custom Guild Logos.

People only listened once people noticed abnormal account data in their save folders... AND WHEN PEOPLE STARTED GETTING RANDOMLY HACKED.

*Notably "Andrew0418" or something like that in the Save folder.

**Save folder consists of a save log of all your preferences (F8 options and such)

Some people speculate its a GM account ([GM]Andrew from the forums), but that begs the question, what the ♥♥♥♥ is Z8 doing on our computers if at all.

While some didn't appreciate "fearmongering", I wouldn't most definitely keep it a hidden secret.

The public should know, and I & my associates took a lot of flak for posting findings and such.

People disregarded it as hysteria.

Then CMD rank players started getting hacked and gimped to hell.

Then people started listening.

Z8 hasn't made a single statement about the issue either.



Tl;dr

The game is going to ♥♥♥♥, and I'm surprised people on Steam actually buy ZP and DLC for it... what with the hacking, potential trojans, and just rampant hackers and other garbage.

Sure, you might be enjoying the game, but, take my word for it, the game is easy enough to enjoy if you listen to the "casual" tag and don't take ♥♥♥♥ seriously.

I mean, the Metagame makes ♥♥♥♥ impossible to take seriously to begin with.

If it's still humanly possible for anyone reading this, just cash out on a refund.

Z8 can't keep Weekly/Monthly missions from resetting, they have no ♥♥♥♥♥ to give regarding foreigners (and consequently the massive hacker influx)... The servers are slowly biting the bullet and turning worse than end-of-days-OGP-server-like, Z8 has had 18 months to revert the game to Peer 2 Peer structuring (which is largely beneficial and reduces server strain, so they're absolute morons, most gears would actually work, so peeps would actually buy virtually everything, rather than having 1 gear a week that doesn't sell at all).

Z8 keeps shooting itself in the feet, pissing off the native players, and just honestly doesn't give two ♥♥♥♥♥.

If you can refund, hit them where it hurts, because, they're nothing more than a shell corporation doing the barebone work required before shipping probably 80%+ of profits back to South Korea as "expenses".

That's what I think at least.

Everyone should do themselves a favor and quit, and cash out on refunds. They had a decent run back when they had motivated, loving staff, but the company and subsequently the game, is garbage now.

I suggest you take what this player says with a grain of salt. he is quite vindictive towards Z8 and will say anything to see them close. He has no proof the game is currently infected.

Red, what the hell are you even doing? The public has a right to know, don't try and mitigate a serious issue. Everyone knows the hackers are running rampant and Z8 isn't doing a thing about it.

Z8/Devs aren't doing ♥♥♥♥ all with the brand, I mean, Tencent is doing x100 times better with the brand.

Z8 can keep illegally servicing foreigners on CrossFire for all I care, one day, the government will step in and they'll be in corporate hell.

Steam refunds exist for a reason, Z8 isn't meeting a standard of quality in their product, and that is basis for refunds.

I don't think I can take everything Green is saying with a grain of salt, seeing as I have played the game before (long time ago by the looks of it), so I know that certain companies can't handle Lost Saga's hackers, updates, demands, and pricing. I would persoanlly love to see NCsoft take Lost Saga, I enjoy all of thier games and the costumer service thy have are the best I have ever experienced on any game.

Well, wouldn't it be better to buy ZP and DLC off of Steam then in game or off thier site? I mean, that Light Reaper and different looking Zerker are both pretty cool.
I'm guessing the meta is still the same? Buy OP gears + Max out a single stat/skill on multiple heroes = swap combo to win?
This is actually the first time I heard someone wanting to go from Server back too Peer to peer.
Now, not saying Z8 isn't at any fault here, but aren't they a small company with a small team? That would be quite hard of them to handle the amount of care it would take to make Lost Saga a decent game, let alone having another game they have to tend too.

I personally believe the hacker situation is a case of an Angry Indonesian Loser Who Got Rekt.

You could, in fact, delete all "foreign" as in not yours foreign, accounts from the [Save.folder]

That, or just flat out re-install.

People have however, stated that Z8 has been giving out weird direct links for "mirror" uploads such as their "official Z8 mediafire upload" or whatever they want to call it.

Use Red (Alonso's) official upload from Mediafire instead. If it turns out Alonso's link is infected, then Z8 is poisoning all auto-updates.

Wouldn't surprise me to be quite honest.



EDIT:

Buying the ZP and DLC from steam gives those ratbastards 70% per $ of the ZP money, rather than ALL of it.

Giving them all the money seemed to result in nothing. No problems ever fixed themselves as a result of all the playerbase giving them all of the money.

If you're going to spend, do it on Steam.

The Ultimate Reaper and Ultimate Berserker packages are not much more than cosmetic.

The Peer2Server2Peer structure has been a complaint for close to 2.5 years now (since WeMadeUSA botched the game)

Z8 had 11 days between the company transition to make the switch. They did ♥♥♥♥ all.

They had time during the 96 hour maintenance (circa March 3~7) to work on it, nothing happened.

People have just stopped complaining about P2S2P, because people know ♥♥♥♥ isn't going to be done by Z8.

Peer2P was a good structure and "lag sensitive" was a pejorative term for users with substandard internet, rather than a pejorative term for gears that barely function.

That's all my salt's worth on the matter.
