Egg Scrambler

The Egg Scrambler needs to be nerfed. It does damage way too fast and has actually trapped me, unable to move, and just grinded down my HP to death. /ragequit

Also, I don't think the Achievements are working properly. None of them will unlock.

Wow..that's really unfortunate. Sorry you got stuck. The egg scrambler boss: did you shoot the four weak spots to reveal his core? Also, I've tuned this battle a bit in the next build--there was a rare glitch where you could instant die from a spike-encroachment issue in the past. Hopefully that will prevent that sort of situation from happening again.

Yeah I shot the four things right off the bat, then proceeded to attack the middle. I don't think the LHC gun is the best one for this battle, and I was on level 4 or 5 of unending. That's cool. Love the game anyhow. Looking forward to the next build very much.

For anyone who continues to have difficulty with this boss there is a secret that makes him extremely easy: Take the Fireforce perk, it prevents all damage from the moving spikes..

I don't want to pick the same perk over and over. I've never died on gumball and the maw but the egg scrambler always kills me. I've only killed him once and I died just after, at least I got the achievement.

the egg scrambler is definitely one of the hardest bosses, that's for sure. There's a "groove" to strafing a long side the grinders, but I guess it's a trickier to decipher pattern than I'd originally thought, as you guys aren't the first to comment on its difficulty. To think: there were once cannons and spinbots in that bossfight too!

I'm pretty sure this is bugged on the Linux version. I've been working on him for about half an hour or more and I haven't even been able to touch his health bar. I figured out that you shoot the four things on the inner spinning deals and the center part is explosed but... that's it. I shot inside of it, at the glowing things on the walls, at the different things on the legs. I've basically fired like crazy at everything and nothing has worked. I was using the pizza shooter gun with a scattershot mod and several damage upgrades i found along the way so I'm guessing if even one sawblade hit, it would have made a dent in it's health bar.

After watching a little bit of that video I can see that some glowing thing is supposed to be in the middle but it's just not there:

I'm guessing there's no save and quit function soooo... I BEAT THE GAME! Or I at least made it as far as I could before it pulled a 'you shall not pass' maneuver on me... What a shame. I had such a great run going too.... _____

Well it's too late now... I've already closed the game. And it turns out there's no save and quit. So in order to beat this game you have to do it all in one sitting like you're playing it on an NES. Why is that btw? Besides I already tried opening the console a couple times before when I thought I was stuck and either the ~ key doesn't open it or it's just not enabled on the Linux version.

I have yet to be able to reproduce this bug - on Windows or Linux. [#!].mouse, can you describe how the fight went down for you? When did it descend into the floor - right from the start? Did you destroy the four discs on it's arms before it reached the floor? Can you also tell me which guns and perks you used? That might help me to reproduce the issue.

Well by the time I figured out I was supposed to shoot the pod things, the grinders were fully nested in the ground. From then on I just kept shooting at everything while avoiding the grinders. I didn't really find a wide variety of upgrades along the way other than a couple damage, health and defense deals. There's really not much else to tell that the screenshot can't. I can try to hunt down the log file if you need that.

Oh and I was using the perk that prevents loot drops from despawning.

Thank you very much for your feedback. But did you maybe already shoot other parts of the machine before it came down?The gun you used may be helpful as well. Sorry about all these questions but that glitch seems to be awfully "specific" (for the lack of a better word). So each little tidbit might help Joe and me to find the trigger for it. :)

I was using the pizza sawblade shooter thing. I honestly don't know what parts I shot while it was coming down. The general mentality of the game seems to be "shoot first, ask questions later" so I was pretty much just spamming everything at that point. Here's the log. It looks like the boss fight starts right around [4101.19].
