Console version has new content ?
I just watched the trailer for the console version releasing in the coming days : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_hAlIzW3NE

- The first room shown is new to me.
- I don't remember the music starting at 1:04
- The texture on the back of the room at 1:38 seems new, but maybe I'm wrong.

Hey Joe, will we see the new content on the steam version ? :D

Hmm..I'm pretty sure everything you mentioned is actually in the current steam build--with the exception of that music track. That music track was a trailer-specific piece of music that's not in the game by itself, but is on the soundtrack!

That first room is very secret though! :-)

But yes, the console versions will be out next week! It's been a heckuva long road for this little indie game. Thanks to you and all the other ToG players out there for all your support!

Woah, and I thought I had 100%' the game.
So I need to find that room then... Oh, maybe it's... Hmm, need to check it out. Anyway, it's funny that it is the first thing shown in the trailer. ;)

Well thanks for the reply Joe, I'm waiting eagerly for your next project, as ToG has been one of my favorites game of the latest years. I'm happy to see that it has been ported to consoles, as it means that it is getting a new batch of players.

I feel the same Joe. Tower of guns is one of my all time favorite games and you are an awesome dev! Im looking forward to your next project. And if you ever release an expansion for Tower of guns I will buy it day one. :D

edit: ...hmmm...Ive never seen that first room either...

well, it's a long way down to the base of the Tower. You probably would have died from such a fall in most circumstances, so I usually instatilt the player. Usually.

And thanks guys! I'm hard at work getting to know my way around Unreal 4 and Project 2. :-)

Ohh :p Now Ill have to try jumping out. I always assumed it would just instatilt me so I never tried falling too far on the outside of it. Maybe if I get the max jumps and slowly bounce down?

Unreal 4 sounds like a pretty major upgrade over 3. Hopefully it is working well for you. When you have an update about project 2, be sure to post it in the announcements section for ToG so we can see it :)

I've not found it yet but I would recommend trying endless mode to you can collect a load of extra jumps. Also the rocket launcher with rapid fire allows you to constantly rocket jump when you are nearer the top of the tower (lower gravity), just look down and shoot.

This is the only way I know to get out and around the tower...

If you see the purchasable upgrade just next to the trumpet gun then left on the opposite side, around the same level there are 4 pillars with blue lights which is where you get out to explore. I'm sure you know it.

There is something on the very top too. So far I've only found 2 secrets outside.

I really got a lot out of this game because I tend to explore and wander into glitches a lot in other games. Time after time Tower of Guns remained one step ahead of me and actually rewarded the way I play with secrets and crazy surprises.

On my first few runs I died just as I was killing a boss and got an achievement, that set the tone. I wondered what would happen if I kept jumping up and up on the outside of the big open tower of guns, I loved how much Joe put in when surely most people will miss it totally.

One of the things I wondered was the scene of the town when the game loads, I figured wow he actually modelled that and made it even though it's just used for a menu thing. I didn't imagine you'd be able to visit it in game but one run I was jumping off the top of the tower on a whim instead of using the reset to get down quicker because I had a particular perk equpped.

Sure enough the game was one step ahead of me again.

If you read this Joe I had all those ? come out positive for my SPOILERSth run so it was an awesome one. I appreciated the twist though :togsmile: :togsmile: :togsmile:

New Modes:

Hot Foot Mode: Feel like playing the floor is lava in the Tower? You will get an unlimited number of jumps when in mid-air, but if you hit the floor you will take damage.
High Roller Mode: Where everything does super-high damage, but your HP regenerates quickly, so it is an everything-or-nothing battle.
4 new weapons, like the “Banker’s Delight” that shoots money, or everyone’s favorite “YoYo Gun” with negative recoil for some hilarious effects.

huh :( I was planning to buy the boxed version anyway to support joe....but if thats true that kinda really sucks. I wouldnt think joe would do something like that :/

I hope this content is available as an upgrade DLC. It would seriously suck if this was exclusive to a very late retail release, thus screwing early buyers.
I bought the game from the official website pretty much as soon as it was available to purchase (well before it's official release), I gifted a couple of copies, I even bought another copy from Indiegamestand for the extras they had (soundtrack, wallpapers, ...). Having to purchase another copy in order to play this content would be seriously disappointing.

hey folks--I'm glad you all are excited about the special edition.

The new content (guns/modes) isn't technically DLC--it's more like "collector's edition special content" (so no downloading--it *should* be in that build). Anyway, that's just semantics though.

I'm not sure yet if/when the new content can come to here to Steam but that would be my preference. Honestly, it depends on the agreement between Grip and Soedesco. I'm trusting the special edition to their hands and they (understandably) want to make it feel as special and worth collecting as possible--hence the fancy metal case and all. Still, I'll push for it with Grip/Soedesco and see what they say!

Also, I should mention, *some* of this content is only new compared to the console version--you folks can try out Hotfoot mode right now in its early 'cheat mode' form if you know the command. :-) I'll be taking that, spiffing it up a little, fixing some bugs with it and properly promoting it to a game mode. Give it a go--if you can figure out the Tog_ImLame code for it (hint, it's not hard to figure out).

And like always, thanks for supporting ToG, guys!
