Thanks for the report! Does deleting your current plane solve the issue?

Not for me, neither deleting nor loading another plane allows me to leave without Alt+F4ing. You can't quit, can't launch, and if your plane gives you a warning you also can't launch. Restarting worked.
For reference I've finished every mission and it's now happened twice.

I should add that it also seems to coincide with a bug that doesn't allow me to move parts. I can add and remove parts, but not use the move tool. The arrows come up, but they don't change when the cursor is over, and don't respond to clicks.

For me I can exit the editor with some Planes but with others its exactely like Drrcp described. The Planes with the problem are the bigger ones. Could be due to the size or because thats newer planes.

I tried deleting the plane, didn't solve the issue so I restarted the game and my save cease to exist :( Lost around 2 hours of progress.

I can confirm that I have the same bug using an AMD graphics card and CPU, running latest version of Windows. Couldn't quit the game either via normal method. Ended up using Task Manager to End Session each time. It seemed that saving seemed to save sometimes and not others. It only seemed to happen when I was building bigger planes and never on small planes. Deleting the plane and starting again did not solve the issue.

I'm also getting very bad performance with big frame drops. Happy to provide more information if desired.

Love the game, just finished it and will be reccomending it despite the performance and bugs.

I have the same problem, and I just investigated a bit.
My current plane is heavy, in fact too heavy for the back wheels which blow up when the plane loads. I tried deleting the plane and starting over, and found that it worked. Just the cockpit alone loaded fine, then the fuselage, the wheels, etc... kept adding stuff and trying to plane every time, and it worked.

Until I put on the fuel tank, which was apparently too much for the wheels to handle, leading to them blowing up on the runway--and suddenly I'm stuck in the edit screen again.

Everyone with this bug, please try building the plane bit by bit until you hit the bug again, it might help trace the problem down.

Thank you so much for this! I was able to reproduce the issue using your description
