You might try Steam Input - it can intercept the controls and map them to anything, even keyboard commands, and even for games that don't support controllers.
even with steamdeck steam input it wasnt working for me that well.. cant bin certain features so you are left without rudders etc
Using trackpad and back paddles for mouse when building, and normal gamepad controls when flying.
Game easily stays over 60fps on Steam Deck, even with the draw distance slider maxed out. Fantastic Deck game, imo.
Edit: this seems to be a remote play issue only, playing locally on the steam deck no such crashes occur. Wild.
ty this worked perfectly. now if they would just add cloud saves.
Would love if someone would share their specific inputs as a community layout as I can't get it to work 100%.
Added mine
The only thing I could get to work was keyboard and mouse. With the left stick set to WASD and analog emulation enabled, it was kind of okay. I could use the touch screen for vehicle editing, but it's really hard to place parts precisely. The trackpad was functional but functionally useless, since it wouldn't stay put no matter how steady I was with my finger.
I gave up and went back to playing on PC.
