Help with puzzle "Miner's Vigil" [SOLVED]

I did every stage to get the projector of that area ready, except the one that involves the bibles.

I can see 5 pedestals in the room on which one can put bibles.
I have gathered a total of 7 bibles (I think 6 from the village and the one in the box below the stairs of the Miner's Vigil room).
I have tried to put bibles on all 5 pedestals, rotating the leftover 2 into that mix as well.
I have also tried to only put one bible on a pedestal and tried this with all the pedestals.
But nothing seems to happen and the projector won't complete.

Can someone who has solved this projector tell me how many bibles have to be placed and on which pedestals? Also am I missing a pedestal or are there really only 5 pedestals?

I'm at my wits end and would appreciate if someone can tell me how they've solved this step.

The sound you hear when you complete a piece of the puzzle is all you need. I only used one Bible. You need to mess with the candles. Clicking on them puts them out or lights them again.

I'm stuck on this puzzle too. I have all of the bullet points except the last one. I tried putting the bible from under the stairs on all of the pedestals and nothing happens except for one where it makes some lanterns appear when I place it on one specific one. I've got all of the candles lit, though one set isn't casting any light which I think might just be a glitch. Do a specific set of the candles need to be lit?

I'm also having problems with Conception. I've also got all of the bullet points for this one except the last. What am I supposed to do with those piston things? I can't get more than 3 of them to go down at once and I'm guessing I'm missing something. Is it related to the lanterns that appear that I mentioned previously?

In finally solved it!
It had something to do with the candles, which I found odd, because I already had the bullet point for "Lit a candle for the miners". But as suggested by Tenzek (thanks!) I played around the candles and found out what was wrong.
And as soon as I solved the puzzle it was immediately clear from the bullet point what the solution was (in hindsight unfortunately).

Before the solution, let me quickly reiterate how far I was. I had solved the following bullet points so far:
- Introduction
- Picked up Bible
- Opened locked Prayer Room
- Lit a candle for the miners

The last bullet point was missing and it's called:
- 23 Miners

As the bullet point suggests, all I had to do was to light 23 candles!
No bibles needed to be placed at all it seems. Well, I had placed down bibles all over the place before, but during the lighting of the 23 candles I didn't have any bibles on the pedestals anymore (I checked this multiple times with reloads).

And for some reason the box with the candles in the middle of the room has to be amongst the 23 lit candles. There are 2 boxes with 5 candles each (including the box in the middle), but for some reason you have to use the box in the middle of the room. It doesn't work if you use the other one with 5 candles on it, even if you have 23 candles lit in total.

There you go, hope it helps someone else.^^

You need to keep 5 pistons pushed down in total.
In order to find out which ones, push down the first piston (so that it stays down).
Then go downstairs into the room which you unlocked (the only other location in this fathom).
Here you can see the lower parts of the pistons.

I guess you'll know what to do next. If not, then here's the solution:
If you look closely, some of the pistons have a "mantle" surrounding them, starting from the floor. They have different heights.
Push down the rest of the needed pistons in accordance with the height of the "mantles" that surround them, starting with the mantle that's the lowest & ending with the mantle that's the highest.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can deduce the number by counting up all the names of the people who were in the mines when the "accident" happened and who wasn't. And that info is scattered around in some notes I think. I can't quite remember if you could get the info from just 1 or 2 notes, or if it was scattered among more notes. But it was mentioned who was down there and who wasn't, of that I'm sure.

hmm, it doesn't work.... only the last bullet point missing, I even tried every possible combination of the candles to lit How bad.... :(

There are 8 groups of candles. Have you made sure that all 8 groups were off?
If you have them all off, then first turn on the candle group in the very middle of the room (the one on the box that's placed against a vertical beam.
Since this group consists of 5 candles, you still need to light 18 more candles to get the full 23 lit candles.
So go around and light candle groups, making sure that the total number of candles adds up to 23.

If that doesn't work, then have you at least once put bibles on each of the pedestals before?
I'm not sure if that is necessary, but that's what I did before I knew about the candles.

All candles have to be off to start, then just light the 23. Doesn't work if all are lit and blowing them out.

Bible is there, (all bullet points except the last are there), start from all candles off, turn on the 5 (in the middle), 7, 3 (next to the 7), 2x4 (next to each other) on.... nothing. Starting over, other combination.. nothing... I restarted the game also, maybe its a bug

seems I'm not allowed to use the 5 box in the middle my solution: 5 (at the entrance, 2x4 next to each other), 7, 3 (next to 5), seems the only combination works for me... (tried reloading and lit in other order the same candles does not work)

Oh wow, I'm terribly sorry then, but for me it definitely needed the one in the middle.
So I assumed that would be the case for everyone. Apparently though the obligatory ones are different with each save?
Hmm, this is very odd indeed. Sorry again, but I couldn't have known this.

This is a strange puzzle. I had all but the last item done and I solved it two times by just rearranging bibles on the pedestals. Not sure if I had the right number of candles lit.

This puzzle definitely seems bugged. For me, the placement of the bible definitely mattered, and needed to be active when lighting the candles, even after getting the bonus for placing it the first time. No combination without the bible worked. It had to be the back left podium with a bible in it before the same comination of candles activated.

Just saw a video on youtube where
He blew out every candle. Relit only some of them. THEN grabbed the bible from down below and placed it on every pedestal. Solved.
That's sure not what I did....
