Tree Hugging Quest
So I get that the licking of 10,000 things is a play on the fact that some MMO quests can be overly grindy, but whoa, 10,000? That's taking it a bit far: If we assume you can lick-a-thing-a-second, you'd be looking at about 3 hours minimum just pressing 'E'. Sure, that's not a whole lot of effort, but it's still a substantial investment of time over basically all the other quests.

For instance, prior to the update, I had 11 hours total in Goat Simulator (I remember that only because I finished 100%ing it like a week before the update came out, and because I have a weird memory, but moving on), and yesterday upon finishing up the rest of the achievements save for BFF, the one involving this quest, and the 2 broken ones, I had 14 hours total. So by comparison it spent me that same 3 hours getting all the expansion achievements and, just for kicks, finishing all the side-quests.

Do I want to invest another 3 hours just pressing 'E'? Not really. I might, because I like perfecting games, but my point is that it just seems unnecessary. My hope is, in essence, that once the devs get around to fixing their broken achievements, that they may also take another look at this one and see what might be remedied.

Or, my other hope is that someone in the community knows of a workaround that can expedite the process somewhat, and share that suggestion so that future persons with my same issue won't have to go through similar frustrations. In any event, thank you for your attention.

You don't need that quest for steam-achievements. I think that quest is just another troll-content that points out the stupidity of some real mmo-quests ;)

You need it for the 'Reach Level 101' achievement, otherwise the level cap is 55, according to others.

There are faster ways for Level 101 ^^.
For example:
  • get the gravity control
  • jump with low gravity
  • increase gravity at 10m height until you begin to fall down
  • decrease gravity again for slowly falling
  • spin 15-20 times in air to get a max. of 17k Exp per jump (they limited the max. points for each stunt)
  • repeat this pattern until you get lvl 101 (should take less than an hour from lvl 50 to lvl 101), at the end you will need 5 or 6 of these stunts to reach the next level

That is not true. I got the achievement and I have not beaten the quest.

You don't need 10,000 licks to get Level 101. And they didn't cap the amount of points, it's just that doing a strictly forward/backward flip will only ever net you 17,000-18,000 points.

The way to do it is use anti-gravity to get high enough, then do multi-directional flips. Don't worry about all that turning anti-gravity off and back on nonsense, you literally only need to be high enough in the air to flip enough times to get the points. This method should take less than a minute or two.

1. Get high in the air using anti-gravity (once you've gotten this, you can select it as a mutator in the main menu so that you don't have to keep going back to Goat Mountain).
2. Hold your flip key along with your forward and left OR right keys. Hold all three keys at the same time. You'll start doing a weird diagonal flip spin.
3. Keep doing that for 15-20 seconds. Stop after that because your score will go over into negative numbers if you do it too long.
4. Land on your feet.

If that doesn't get you to 101, repeat as necessary.

That's too forgiving; make it 1 000 000 licks.

Whoa, I can still comprehend that number. Higher.

Stop it, or they'll make an achievement for steam out of it :gaper: ^^

Maybe someone should make a rapid fire lick mod.

ONE! ZILLION! LICKS!

In case anyone is wondering what happens if you actually lick 10000 or a zillion things, I completed the quest and it's amazing. Honestly, the prize is completely worth it. And by prize, I mean there is no prize. You get no reward for completing this quest, unless you count a life lesson as a reward.

And, no, I did not lick 10000 things nor did I hug 10000 trees. I used scanmem and changed the values appropriately.
