My Actors all have an area called Specialization with 2 Genres or Themes that are locked. Things like TEEN, WESTERN, MEDICAL, MARTIAL-ARTS etc. Is this something that has not been activated yet or does it need to be unlocked in some way?

Also, why is the Grass constantly dying and drying up? I need to keep placing down new grass which is a PITA!!!

And lastly, is there a way to find out which sets improve which stats for the Actors, Directors and Writers when training in them? I have tried to see which stats improve when sending Actors to train on them, but cannot really tell if anything is improving.

From what I've been able to tell the genres can be trained but themes cant

Those themes are in fact locked. You can try-out creative mode and see all that the game currently has once you place the screenwriting building as it will be a higher level.

As for the actors, it is very difficult to see the difference, but they have different color bars beside their image and they do go up a bit after a movie or 2 depending on the role. Though I think they are still working on this to be more clear.
