Isn't this Minesweeper restyled?
As title asks, looking at the this concept it seems very much to be the exact idea behind minesweeper but restylised to look more 'thought provoking'.

Similar idea yes. A good bit more fun in my opinion, but solving usually follows the same path.

like if minesweeper was made by ikea

Minesweeper + Nonogram, I think.
But it is quite fun for me.

The very basic concept is similar to Minesweeper, yes, but this adds quite alot of variety in the type of clues given and methods of solving. Obviously if you don't like Minesweeper-type puzzles you won't like this, but IMHO this is much better.

It has a similar basic concept, but there is one big difference: Minesweeper gives you randomly generated levels, and sometimes you have 50:50 chances and you need to guess. Pure luck! This one gives you well crafted levels that can all be solved by thinking, you never have to guess. It's all up to you. And the additional rules allow for far more complex problems.

And being a similar concept to minsweeper is a bad thing how exactly?

Where did you get the idea that it was a bad thing, or that anyone had said it was?

From the looks of it, this is minesweeper with hexes (with a few additions). That sounds great to me, but there's no random puzzles and extra puzzles are in the form of stand-alone expansions. That doesn't sound great to me.

Why would this be considered as being better when there is absolutely no replayability? Honest question.

It's a mix between Minesweeper and Picross to me :)

It is like Minesweeper, yes. But it has a lot more features and is IMHO a lot more fun.

Because the levels are always fair and pretty challenging later on. With Minesweeper you just click automatically if you have played for some time until you get hit by bad rng and are forced to guess. In Hexcells there's always at least one way to progress without guessing, although it isn't obvious many times. But that's what makes good puzzle games so much fun. Sure there's not much reason to replay once you've finished the game but it feels very rewarding to finally find the solution to the more difficult levels. Plus it's more complex than Minesweeper and the interaction of the different rules make some really enjoyable brain-teasers.
If you enjoy pure puzzle games like Minesweeper or Nonograms/Picross you will definitely have some fun with this game.

This! The music is what makes it better though. No explosions either.

It's similar to minesweeper, but in minesweeper you have to guess at some points, where as in hexcells if you really stop and think before each move you can do it without ever messing up. There's more thought to hexcells, especially considering all the unique mechanics.
