game went from "alright" to "not worth it" realy quickly

so i finaly try out the demo, all is well, trying to start building some sort of house...but the enemy spam......that appear out of nowhere pathfinding to me no matter what, and now the worst offender, im lookin in all the crafting stations and what not and suddenly a giant slime just....materializes in front of me...like what? hello game?!? BALANCE?!?!?!?! i just started out the game with wood, WOOD, and you think its a good idea to just randomly throw a boss at the player, while he just tries to do finding himself out with the game, to just drop a boss ontop of him on like day 3 or what ever? and then it gets even worse, EVEN THE BOSS IS ENEMY SPAMMING ME, and his small things take forever to kill and of course he just shoots random things aswell, what went wrong with this game to allow such bad game design in the first place? to allow for enemy spam and not balance to just happen out of nowhere in a small space with all the trees that block you, why is a boss randomly showing up in your base?!? what? just WHAT went wrong when makin that....VERY questionable design choice?

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling like this. That boss has a 25% chance of spawning every night (until defeated) starting on night 2. It is designed to be a challenge with starting gear, but doable with the very first upgrades (like the wooden sword).

We wanted to give players a challenge quite early in the game while also showing off the first boss. We'll look into ways of making this encounter happen when the player has improved their equipment.

This is also a thing exclusive to the prologue, as the full game will have a different pacing.

Skill issue. The boss' appearance is announced early in the chat and can be easily beaten with early-game gear. Besides, even if you do end up dying, it is not like you're being punished for it.

King slime did show up faster than i thought he would, still killed him and summoned 3 more from voodoo masks, i got some nice early game loot, used wood armour/bow/sword (sword is better imo). I'm enjoying the game alot, good luck to the devs!

terraria bosses spawn themselves as well. if u dont like terraria, WHY would u try a game that is clearly heavily influenced by it? while the original replies did seem to go a bit hard on u, u do seem to be a child. doubt ur above 20. not trying to be mean but u gotta toughen up just a bit. i dont play racing games cause i dont like them. u wont see me commenting on any racing games either....cause i dont like them.

because the game dont look like terraria? it looked way more like tinkertown then that, and i liked tinkertown, a game that dont spam you with things every time, and i am above 20, just because one does not like a bad design and voices there oppinion about it dont mean your a kid, thats just not right, or are you ok if i tell you that your a 5 year old baby because you cant handle me voicing out my oppinion? for sure not would you? me a child....now thats a new one...please....if that would have been true i would not have drawn...more then questionable things i wont go more into details because thats hardly the right place to discuss something like that

for from this public discussion? Also it makes you look a little bit of a baby complaining about the basic enemy spawn and the super easy slime boss that just hops around.

that art i show off? i stoped showing art on my steam profile, because of...not so pleasant people i once encountered, a situation of sorts that i realy do not wish anyone else will ever have to experince...and these are plenty of years old my art, alsol art dont look magicaly better just because i use a differend art tool, it depends on the skill of the artist, took a while for me to use some sort of shading my art, actualy mostly only 1 person said that i was a kid simply because that person acuse me of being stupid because that person claims that i would complain about something i dit not even do

If you played the game you would find items that helped with like for example spawn rate of enemies, but also you're complaint is mostly about the slime king and his mechanics. He shoots stuff yes like all other enemies like all other types of games. The game is a survival game so you do need to fight mobs and survive lol.

well as far as i understand it, the boss just spawns ontop of you at a complete random time no matter where you are and dont care if its day 2 or day 100, and he spawned on like day 3 or 4 for me, while i was still busy lookin into all the craft menus to see what i can build, i build a small house of sorts, enemies still spawned near it even with walls, floors, and a light source inside and even outside, if the game was a survival then were my hunger meters? and technicaly to survive is to alsol not fight in a way, i dit not question why i cant walk through trees, the trees were in my way as the boss spawned ontop of me, so i could not even move, and these slimes take like 6 hits from the wooden sword and the boss randomly spawns in like 6 more so, and sometimes these ones do jump from 1 end to the other, dont help that sometimes you can move even less because the boss is too fast and shoots things with seemingly random directions, and dont forget other random stuff that may show up to annoy you, now tell me, how is that boss design fair in any possible way? and dont tell me "i was able to do so" thats not an answere, thats just braggin about that you were able to do so, i would even complain about that boss if i 1 hit it, im that kind of person you know? i try to be as fair as possible in situation like these and try lookin into the view of another person, how else am i supposed to examine how the human race works or what and what dont work so well in a video game?

Didn't you get a creator responded telling you the whole spawn rate for the easiest boss in the game. There's food in the game idk why there needs to be a hunger bar when the food does other stats for you, you need to play these types of games to understand that. The fact your'e still crying about mobs spawning is insane, they need to spawn to drop items for crafting. Like I said there are items that drop the spawn rates thats why you need to spend a little more time then 30 minutes playing.
Also why are you crying about them spawning if you have a house?? They cant open doors lmao.
You really need to take a step back and think, should I be broken at the start or should there be a little challenge? You cant be salty your'e being killed by the 4 variety slimes, you need to do the work and get a better sword and armor stop being a baby. Theres nothing random, the creator made spawn rates and patterns, you need to use a little more critical thinking here.

well maybe your the kid or dumb...or both....i KNOW the dev said these things, that does not mean that its suddenly not random spawning ontop of me, and as i made the topic i dit not know the % chance of the boss randomly spawning, ok there is food in the game....why it needs a hunger bar? well you said it is a survival game, survival means to fill your belly so you dont get hungry, something you and i do every day, im not crying about enemies spawning, im complaining that there too many and way to fast spawning in fact, and even spawning at the house where the light sources are, to me it appears you ignored that fact, i dont care if they can enter it or not, they sould not spawn near it at all, near the spawn point bed no less, if enemies randomly spawn everywhere no matter what then at least they sould not spawn there, i dit not say that i want to be broken at the start of the game, and i am not salty for a thing that never happend, wich is by you being killed by the slime, wich where dit you get that? now you litteraly make up things, theres nothing random? are you actualy stupid now? it appears you need to do critical thinkin here because as i said, enemies sould NOT spawn right next to the house randomly, unless of course....honestly if i look at this community, it appears more and more that its nothing but yes sayers in here that dont allow others to voice out there oppinion about something, they only want to hear "yes this is fine, there are no problems with this game what so ever" well, its not, the game is not fine, and i say it proudly, if you cannot handly other peoples observations on what could been changed to the better then please leave the video games behind, there will allways people like me, thinkin, thinkin on what it is about a game that could been better, but ok, sure, im the child here, not you, not that other very vocal person out there, no, its me, the one that actualy voices out his observations and belives in how things could made better, but not in this place, this place is yes sayers only with this community, if you dont know what that means, well then maybe that shows who realy is the child

3. You're dumb lets top being so dumb and re read what I said on food, they give you stat boost, did you know mine craft didn't have hunger bars originally? I bet you didn't with you being a child n all. There's food and potions to drink so that survival is there. No more coping on that.
4. You're a liar again, playing currently have a house with torches and im not having any spawn near me, only when I adventure out. stop lying from your teeth please. Also the king slime wont spawn in your house nor near, he has to approach you on the map if you payed attention, so maybe clear some trees to fight since you cant fade through them.
