How is this getting so many positive (Steam) reviews?

So reading from the actual steam reviews that addressed the technical features of this game it seems that this is pretty much a mediocre port with physics issues, low res textures, internal sync issues due to increased framerate, missing console content and so on all with a 45$ price tag (40$ because of early discount) which is insane given the fact that El Shaddai, Killer7, Vanquish, Okami and Bayonetta which are much better games and ports are all 20$.

I was really expecting this game because I never had the chance to play it but I'll probably wait until it gets fixed which given the steam reviews it might motivate developers to not bother as it looks like it's been positively received...

Given the same circumstances with any other game it would have been review bombed calling for patches but doesn't seem the case here which I find strange... It's just because antiwoke chuds are reviewing this better because of political reasons?

the problem is that steam's rating system doesn't allow nuance it's either or

Personally I finished and overall enjoyed the game despite a lot of bugs so from there it would seem hypocritical to me to leave a negative review

with a more traditional and broad rating system like the metacritic one, I would have given something around 75/100 (which is still positive)

This is good, will wait to see if this port turns to be good, but daaaam for 45$ this should have been good from the beggining or at least should have included more new content specially when whole remakes are being released at much reasonable prices (Age of Mythologies is 25$ godammit!)

Crrossing my fingers on Shadows of the Damned next (but at least I platinumed and got all the xbox achievements back in the day).

The game is generally still in a better state than most new titles and it's a beloved classic that's finally available legitimately on PC. Combined with the fast response from the developers on the issues the game has and you get the perfect set up for the game to have a positive rating. Most people, myself included, are willing to overlook technical issues if the game is at least enjoyable. There's no option for a purely Informative review like Curators get, but if you ONLY ever look at the current score a game has, that's an issue on your end honestly. If you're wanting to see if a game is worth it from user reviews, you kinda need to actually read the reviews and not just go off the number of Positive ones. Many positive ones outright say what issues the game has and say it's really down to if those issues are a deal breaker. Given they're getting fixed (ETA who the hell knows) I'd say this is a frankly you level problem for not bothering to go through the reviews themselves.

♥♥♥♥ happens, i've been on both sides of the coin, i've QA'd for 4 different games, stuff gets through the cracks it happens. things then get fixed afterwards.

at least they are addressing the issues and being transparent about it and working on a patch.

That runs on Windows 11, I think there's more issues for people on Steam Deck because it's Linux. Just speculatory though, I can't say with certainty if that's a related thing on not. UE5 does have WAY too many problems on Linux.

Clowns aren't all that good a metric honestly. I have tons and they're just from people with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ opinions who didn't like getting called out or hearing the truth. That said, sometimes they hold more weight and other times they don't. This is a case of yeah, valid to go off the Clowns.
