As a dev myself, I understand using UE5 and not using the original engine. It would be next to impossible to create a multi platform port with the old engine.
I can't say whether the notion of the physics is difficult in UE5, I would say no, but then again, it is a port after all and it could be that it would have required to re-do the 3d model of Juliet. Tbh, I would not do that too... too much hassle for just some bouncing boobies.
Nothing will ever satisfy you as long as you continue to scream and whine about this.
Never said that, you are putting words and accussing others of something we do not do.
DEI is about political activism into video games and studio that downgrade or censor a game for political gains and investors. It could be political correctness, censorship, being against pretty characters, being against comedy, ... You know that very well, you are gaslighting in order to defend your activism.
This is not really a engine issue, as the engine is capable of doing this. It was tone down on purpose or just lazy work. It's pretty much camera angles and body physics, either they censored the game on purpose or they were too lazy to recreate it exactly the same
could be that, wasted ressources on purpose
Stop making everything about "wokies"
Who is RePOP mode for? The fanbase for this franchise will never use it, and the modern audience that the developers tried to court with it won't buy this game unless ALL OF IT IS CENSORED FOR EVERYONE. It isn't enough for the virtue-police to have a version that's more palatable to their Puritan values. No, they need the old fanbase to be forced into using the censored mode, too. They want a bended-knee. They want a "it was wrong then, and it is wrong now. We apologize" treatment of this game and no "Original Mode" whatsoever.
IGN won't even review this title because "Original Mode" exists. Most reviewers aren't touching it, and that means no word of mouth. No presence in traditional media.
Quite frankly, the developers should have foreseen this and not even wasted a drop of sweat or a single penny pandering to them in the first place. Poor priorities. Should have passed on RePOP mode entirely, run an ad campaign emphasizing faithfulness to the original version with improvements to controls and camera, and tried to secure at least a few licensed songs to keep some of the original vibe (Hey Mickey. Of all the songs, Hey Mickey is the worst loss).
Instead, we have this. A product kind of made for no one. I might buy it when it's on sale and has had a massive number of performance patches, but eh.
TLDR: not a lot of DEI. Worst thing you'll hear is that the character physics are downgraded, but with all the bugs on release... maybe Juliet's bosom is glitched?

Edit addition: When I say "made for no one," I mean that the Puritans don't want this because it offends their sensibilities and includes the irredeemably offensive (to them) original version. Meanwhile, the fans for Lollipop Chainsaw don't really want this game without any of its original licensed music and are leery of it having hidden censorship issues because of RePOP mode existing in the first place.
Nobody really wins here. Would have been better to just get the original Xbox 360 release backwards-compatible on the Xbox Series X and leave it at that.
