I mean, you could, I have to pull out an old console to plug it in. However, the goal is the same here, i want the new updated version uncut as well and we will have to mod to get it there.
Basedmods is also not a great choice right now. Better moddinghaven or rpghq
The dev put out a statement explaining the differences between "Original" Mode and "RePop" Mode. As long as the original mode is there and still upgraded (just without the licensed music from the "original" original sadly) I don't see the problem.
There are some gameplay changes, accessability options and stuff like that in the RePop Mode and the gore is gone. I would have preferred if we could get all the stuff in a settings menu instead of "2 modes" so we could choose which changes we want (RePop Gameplay but with the Gore for example).. But I would not call it censorship as long as the uncut Original Mode is in the package.
Original music is not "just". It plays huge part in this game and James Gunn did excellent job with track choices. This game gravitates towards music and every stage and boss is somewhat connected to different genres. Saying it's "just the music" and that it's not a problem...only person who didn't play this game back in the day, could say that. OST in Lollipop was part of the bigger picture, and hopefully it will be restored via mod. I don't give a flying flamingo about music let's say in another upcoming SUDA remaster (Shadows of the Damned), because music didn't play the crucial role. But in LC music is heavily connected with the game. Removing it is a huge deal.
Just wanted to exclude that as a "censorship" thing. That's a license thing (that also sucks).
This, 100% this. Trying to workout how to restore tracks to specific levels/events..
Glad to see people thinking this. The OST is essential to this game, IMO its even more crucial than soundtracks in games like Stubbs the Zombie, GTA or such.
Lolipop Chainsaw is a window into the time it was made into retro american culture, through the lens of foreigner and US based developers no less. The game is full of one-hit-wonders and swaggering tracks that fit not just the situations of the fights, but also the high energy personality of Juliet and the cast of characters.
This! I've heard people talking about "Hey Mickey", but damn I miss Cherry Bomb in the menu the most!
You're definitely right about the new songs, but It's okay to criticize censorship of ANY kind. If you don't like sexualized characters that's understandable and fine, it's also fine to play games with content like that. Adults should be able to play whatever they want without censorship. People shouldn't want to take away other people's fun away because they want to pretend to be morally superior online.
Shout out to shift up for releasing those uncensored alternatives, they gained a lot of love and good will from fans. Hopefully we get the blood and gore back
