Mod Nexus to the rescue
Can't wait to get this game and mod it so all the censorship is removed from the upgraded version. Assuming there will be mods that is.

Why should I bother with this if I still have this on xbox 360

Wait, I'm confused. Doesn't the trailer start with the information that the original version is one of the two options available?
The problem is that everyone wants the updated version to not have censorship. If we wanted to play the original, we'd just do that.

I mean, you could, I have to pull out an old console to plug it in. However, the goal is the same here, i want the new updated version uncut as well and we will have to mod to get it there.
From what im reading is that it is only called original mode and not just how it looks on the 360/ps3. The difference is the comical things and pg13 are in repop. Graphical ugrades are the same
You mean based mod, nexus is garbage now.

Basedmods is also not a great choice right now. Better moddinghaven or rpghq
I don't quite get the censorship debate in the discussions.
The dev put out a statement explaining the differences between "Original" Mode and "RePop" Mode. As long as the original mode is there and still upgraded (just without the licensed music from the "original" original sadly) I don't see the problem.
There are some gameplay changes, accessability options and stuff like that in the RePop Mode and the gore is gone. I would have preferred if we could get all the stuff in a settings menu instead of "2 modes" so we could choose which changes we want (RePop Gameplay but with the Gore for example).. But I would not call it censorship as long as the uncut Original Mode is in the package.

just without the licensed music (...)I don't see the problem.

Original music is not "just". It plays huge part in this game and James Gunn did excellent job with track choices. This game gravitates towards music and every stage and boss is somewhat connected to different genres. Saying it's "just the music" and that it's not a problem...only person who didn't play this game back in the day, could say that. OST in Lollipop was part of the bigger picture, and hopefully it will be restored via mod. I don't give a flying flamingo about music let's say in another upcoming SUDA remaster (Shadows of the Damned), because music didn't play the crucial role. But in LC music is heavily connected with the game. Removing it is a huge deal.
Sorry, I didn't want to downplay the role of the music. I agree with you.
Just wanted to exclude that as a "censorship" thing. That's a license thing (that also sucks).

This, 100% this. Trying to workout how to restore tracks to specific levels/events..

Glad to see people thinking this. The OST is essential to this game, IMO its even more crucial than soundtracks in games like Stubbs the Zombie, GTA or such.

Lolipop Chainsaw is a window into the time it was made into retro american culture, through the lens of foreigner and US based developers no less. The game is full of one-hit-wonders and swaggering tracks that fit not just the situations of the fights, but also the high energy personality of Juliet and the cast of characters.

All I want is Cherry Bomb in the menu, other licensed tracks would be fine as well.

This! I've heard people talking about "Hey Mickey", but damn I miss Cherry Bomb in the menu the most!

Oh my god, please stop the crying about censorship already when almost EVERY SINGLE SONG from the original got replaced by a generic worse one. I can't hear it anymore. Seriously, anyone that ask, "Can I goon to this?" should been forced to listen to "Justin Bieber - Baby" the entire time while playing without being able to mute the music.

Playing this game without a mod that restore all the old songs should been illegal.

You're definitely right about the new songs, but It's okay to criticize censorship of ANY kind. If you don't like sexualized characters that's understandable and fine, it's also fine to play games with content like that. Adults should be able to play whatever they want without censorship. People shouldn't want to take away other people's fun away because they want to pretend to be morally superior online.

In his defence, we have already been here recently with Stellar Blade.

Devs lie for PR and are also forced to do things they otherwise wouldn't want to do.

Gotta wait for it to come out to see the truth.
Stellar Blade did release recolors of the swimsuit later on with a patch though, original design and all.

Only thing I won't forgive is toning down blood and gore, compared to the demo there was barely a tiny splatter of blood.

Shout out to shift up for releasing those uncensored alternatives, they gained a lot of love and good will from fans. Hopefully we get the blood and gore back

why isn't the yoga outfit from the intro cinematic not in the game?
