Nonbinary characters and romance options
It seems (at this point) like only bisexual characters can be romanced by nonbinary pcs. If you don't want to let them romance everyone and let the player sort out whose attraction they want to be counted in, is there a chance that we could get a setting somewhere, or that some of the non-bisexual characters could get a secondary preference, or something? It doesn't feel great being told "you can exist, but no one's sexuality has enough nuance to include you unless it includes everybody."

Similarly, it would be nice for nonbinary characters to be able to have a gender preference other than "everybody" and "nobody." It feels like it would just be easiest if sexuality was 0-3 settings for "attracted to women," "attracted to men," and "attracted to nonbinary [people]" and the character's own gender wasn't part of it.

NPC characters have preferences based on being straight, gay, lesbian, or bisexual. Lesbian characters are only attracted to women, gay characters to men, and straight characters to the opposite gender. For example, if you’re interested in Sheela but aren’t a woman, she won’t be interested, as she’s a lesbian character. Bisexual characters can be romantically interested in men, women, and nonbinary characters.

As a nonbinary character, you can romance women if you’re attracted to them, men if you’re attracted to them, or both. However, the NPCs need to be bisexual to be interested back. NPCs currently don’t have any way to know if they like you for who you are, but there’s still a pool of choices to find your sweetheart.

Romances are in the very early stages, so they’re barely developed for anyone. As more updates are added, there will be more options for everyone. If specific choices are missing, we can discuss and add them as needed. For now, it’s like discussing the pattern of a tapestry in an unbuilt house.

I missed this part when I played. I know you can gain/lose status with NPCs, but what is the 'romance' part?

Once you pick up and read your journal, you can activate romance options and choose your preferences. If you’ve done this and still didn’t see any romance options, it’s likely because there aren’t many available at this point.
