Will not launch at all please help!

Hi, picked this game up yesterday as part of a bundle, it looks good but I cant get it to launch

I have tried installing all the files from the redist folder already, and the usual restarts and compatibility mode settings etc from properties, but whenever i try to play i get the box saying 'steam is launching Residue' then immediately get the windows prompt of @residue has stopped working'

The progress bar fills up and then it just closes, nothing ever loads up.

Anyone else had this issue and discover a fix??

For some reason, it only runs through a exe in a folder.

Just in-case anyone ends up here trying to find a fix for the game not starting.
You need to install Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1 .
A small redist related to Directx .
Install that and the game will start.
Prior to installing that redist i had my game exe set to win8 comaptibility mode .
Not sure if that's still needed but the game has been built to require XNA 3.1.

I used to installl XNA 3.1 and XNA 4.0 .
I think Microsoft might been moved them into the Directx installer.

But some old games still have a hard requirement for the old installers and won't start if they're missing.
