Backdoor Agent Virus DO NOT RUN Age of Wushu!
I downloaded this to play Age of Wushu as it looked interesting but my security programs both caught a Backdoor agent virus. I Chose the Golden Kirin Server pushed launch and warnings shot up telling me to cease running and scan my rig. Then I uninstalled Age of Wushu. It may only be that server. I don't know. But do you want to risk it?

EDIT: I use Malwarebytes Pro (Premium) and Security Essentials.

Greetings! Age of Wushu does not contain any malicious programs. Please update your Malwarebytes and MSE to the latest version and give it another shot. Our GPK (Game Protection Kit) needs to communicate with our servers in order for Age of Wushu to run. Please give fxgame.exe and autoui.exe permission to run through your firewall or anti - virus.
It very plainly says what is quarentined. And I keep my virus protection up to date fanatically. It says it is a , and I quote "Backdoor.Agent.HTMGen".

This link is information on what that means:

https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/299108aeb5bfb2c9c495929b7506cfe816878a1889999ada4296164dd339d368/analysis/

I do want to play but it says "The file being studied is a Portable Executable file! More specifically, it is a Win32 EXE file for the Windows GUI subsystem.".

Please explain what that means or what the file does?

Thank you for your time. I hope you understand I am not being combattive, I just want to protect my PC.
Awe man that sucked. Mistakes happen..The Demon Murphy does exist. I am in touch with my team and we are looking into Security solutions and Age of Wushu. I don't know if we will play or not at this time. I am keeping my Malwarebytes Pro (premium) in any case. It has saved me far too many times to let one man's story affect my faith in Malwarebytes ability to protect my PC. It has had a false positive before but all it did was quarentine the file and it was a simple left click to restore it and add it to the exeptions list.
Wow, you are way too paranoid.

I don't even have anti-virus active on my computer, and I download hundreds of torrents every year... lol. Just use common sense. 99% of the time you can tell when a virus is being installed or has been installed. With keyloggers, there is a delay when typing, so just remove the keylogger manually.. with most others, you can see a process running in the task manager.

Lol.
Lol, its always so funny when an anti-virus/malware tool freaks out over a fairly innocent program. Mine always flags my copy of Sam & Max Season 1.....which I bought retail on a CD. Still thinks its a virus tho ^_^

Anyhow, AOW is ok, quite a few people seem to be having problems with Malwarebytes throwing a false positive. It happens.
i am having the same problem. even if it is a false positive, and i know they happen, it's still not a very welcoming first impression of the game!
I have Viper Internet Securtiy Suite. While it appears as a different name, it does say that there is a Trojan that is being run while I am loading into the game.

For the Developers, I suspect it is a harmless key component to their game that our Security programs are picking up. On the other hand there might be a real issue here so it should be looked into if for no other reason than to quash and quite these rumors

There is absolutely no trojans in our Age of Wushu client. What your anti virus is picking up, is our GPK (Game Protection Kit) attempting to communicate with our servers. Please give allowances for fxgame.exe and autoui.exe through your anti virus programs. Or update your anti virus programs to the newest versions.
different, but maybe a related issue: why do i always have to run steam as administrator in order for this game to launch properly? not a huge issue, just curious.

enjoying the game thusfar!
