I tried it a few years back. It just didn't catch for me and I usually love all things western. I'm also usually the first to say that graphics aren't everything but in this case the polygon stick figures sliding across the landscape were just too much of an immersion breaker.

Actually I still consider Smokin' Guns as better game in many aspects and all FoF developers need is to run this game and copy some things into Source engine ;) Just hear the sound and feel the Winchester rifle:

I played Smokin' Guns when it was called Western Quake 3 as well. It was great, great fun. Probably the best of all the Quake Mods.

Loaded it up a few months ago, and the gameplay is still great, though the textures are almost archaic now. Hopefully FoF will assume the crown.

I agree that pistols sounds more pleasant in FoF. But every other powder weapon sounds much better in SG. When I "handle" shotguns in FoF it sounds a bit like plastic toy.
