"Wooly Mammoth"
Hello,

in-game it sais "Don't kill, we can capture it".
So is it really possible? Because it guards a treasure chest and I want it.

That's just conversation talk

You can kill it. Also you get an achievement/medal for killing it on Epic difficulty so you might want to look out for that as an optional challenge

The epic kills I'll do on a later run, where I overlevel myself. ATM I'll try to get the game through as low level as possible.
So it's just plain useless talking ?

btw. since you mentioned the epic difficulty. If I raise the difficulty, do I get more EP for kills ?

It's just one of the characters being sensitive towards mammoths

And I'm not sure though it probably doesn't matter since even on normal you can get by without grinding

It's like an inside joke to EBF3, too.

You don't acually "kill" it. In the chest he protects there is a mammoth summon - that is to simulate that after his defeat party captured it and now he will help them in combat as one of available summons.

Already slaughtered it ^^
But that one is really mean confusing :P

It is not that much, during fight Matt will say that they should just keep attacking untill mammoth surrenders himself, and if you look at his eyes during his "death animation" it wil appear as if it is crying instead of X X as with most other enemies, indicating that he didn't die but rather just fell down.

I think this should be fixed, it will confuse new players. When she said that I was like "wait, so I shouldn't kill it? What do I do then?"
But that would require all languages to be updated too, so nvm

You don't need to be overleveled to win on Epic. I've played all versions (though admittedly not a big fan of 1 and 2) on Kongregate and if there is one thing I know, it is that this series handles difficulty well. You simply need to know what you're doing.

Learn when to get what stats on who and what abilities to get on who (protip: forget Gaia Seed and learn it to Nat ASAP) and you're good. An example is that most of the Ashwood enemies are weak to ice and water so you would naturally max those out. But level 1 Ice for Nat and Matt's Water ability is enough to get past all the fights in Ashwood. But the boss is weak to Fire but not Ice. So get level 1 then just max out fire for the Oak fight.

This confused me just now, as I encountered it for the first time. Thanks for the answers in this thread, which is still relevant.

It does confuse indeed, but later on in fight players note that you need to just keep attacking it.

The chest contains the powerful summon, which is good being that he is a pain to defeat, even on normal difficulty
