Game length.
So i've heard it's a flash game, yeah I don't really care. Usually flash games are short and have no replay value. So, as the title says, what's the length of this game?

So far I've put about 8 or so hours into the game, and I believe I'm only halfway done, if the warp zone appears correctly. There's also the option to play on New Game+ a few times, which further extends the gameplay. There is also an endless wave survival as well. All in all, quite a fair bit of content if you ask me.

Thanks for the info.

The game length varies depending on what you want out of it, beat the game, get all achievments, beat on Epic mode, ectera ectera

Truth be told, I've put in about 30 hours on newgrounds and another 30 hours on kong without ever getting around to beating the game. So if my time is to be believed (discounting any issues of falling asleep at the computer) one playthrough takes about 30 hours.

I don't see how n-ewgrounds is a swear word..

But again appreciate the detailed information.

You're welcome, my Kong playthrough was for beating it on epic, and my NG one was justa regular playthrough... though you're right, I don't get why NG trips the wordfilters.

Fun fact: on a forum I was on in the past, an admin got all prissy and mad (I admit, for legitimate reasons) and wordfiltered my username to make it display as something rather insulting. (totally not cool)

Haha I will never understand :rfacepalm: I have never heard of Kong actually, just played it before on NG. I enjoyed it.

Wow are you serious? That's bullcrap :rshout:

I'd say play on normal for the first run if you've never played this before, and switch to hard if you want to up the challenge, then start on epic for your new game+. 3rd run is meant for those who just can't get enough of this. Took me about 16 hours to finish first game on normal, I killed everything and finished all the NPC requests.

I did epic on a fresh start too, doable, but it became a lot more luck based, and since I'm the kind of person who'd win a negative jackpot if there ever was one, it reallly sucked for me. YMMV

Thanks for the help Windezz, nice info.

Actually gameplay should be a couple hours longer now, because the premium items are now hidden behind new bosses in the new area, whereas on Kong/Armor/NG it used to just give you everything as soon as you cough up the money.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Meh, feels less P2W and I have to actually gear up and upgrade to get the good stuff, instead of invalidating a good portion of the game with $8 ubers. I think that's a better approach.

Depends on how you're prepared for areas. As long as you don't overlevel your abilities (e.g get Heal to the point where it heals twice as much as Matt's max HP) or level up the wrong abilities you should be fine.

A simple example from EBF3 (haven't really found a difficulty wall of the same kind in EBF4) is when you first meet the Monoliths in the Snow area. You build up your Fire skills (because snow) and if I remember correctly, the Monoliths are immune to fire, atleast they're pretty damn resistant to it. So yeah. It's basically an entire boss fight in itself the first time. But then you know they're coming up on later playthroughs so you get Earth/Bomb/any healing/support skills you deem necessary and you can breeze through it (unless you're on Epic).

Btw, the Monoliths in EBF3 are WAY stronger than the ones in EBF4. I didn't break a sweat fighting the Monoliths in EBF4 (Epic) while I still need a few attempts for the first one in EBF3.
