MAGIX Music Maker 2014

MAGIX Music Maker 2014

Music 2000 from the PS one?
At a glance, this reminds me of a program/game that came out on the playstation one in the mid 90s called Music 2000 (as seen below):

How simular is this to a software to the above?

What are you talking about?
This is a music application to make music. Just like Garage Band or FL Studio & (others).

As someone who has used Magix over the last 5 or so years, this program is a lot more simplified than fruityloops (other software i use) but Magix produces royaltyfree loops that enable you to create some seriously great music.

I haven't tried 2014 version but i will be and the software from previous years as i own all the previous soundpools is excellent and fun to play with. Even without using 2014, i'd highly recommend this.

I'd kill to have the PC version of Music 2000 here.

I still have the PS1 version and I still love creating with it.

So was music 2000. For many it was the first attempt to bring music generation to the masses. Obvioulsy you could not record your own audio input due to the hardware limitations of the PS1, but other than that it was a cracking little program.

You could sample from CD's though. Used that feature plenty of times

I'd kill for a modern, more featured version of Music 2000. I spent many, many hours putting together simple songs in that thing :D

They did port a windows version of Music 2000. I bought it about eight years ago from an obscure little computer store. Still make the odd phat beat on it.

But it is the PS1 version I will always remember warmly, that and deciding which lot of saved games you would be prepared part with in order to make room for your latest creation.

Haha yeah.
Music 2000 was the first "game" I bought for my PS @ full price. I only have one piece of music from back then though. (we got robbed and my PS, MD4S and instruments got taken). https://soundcloud.com/postalpro/ds1

Anyways, to answer the original question, MAGIX 2014 is similar but does a lot more. Music 2000 was quite limited (but that was the beauty of it) in that you were really only sequencing one shot samples. In MAGIX you have access to audio recording, loop based editing, VST/VSTi etc.

I usually use Nuendo as I had to work with it for a few years and I love it, but I grabbed MAGIX for when I just want to load a loop or 3 and jam on my guitar on my laptop without iloks and the other bs.
