I mean, couldn't Obi Wan have done his wavy-hand space magic in the cantina rather that using a Jedi weapon in a crowded space when he knew full well the Empire was looking for the droids? Ok, buddy, not as clumsy or random as a blaster, but a tad more obvious, doncha think?
Oh, even more fun! How about you tell us all how your space battles are better than Bab5 or The Expanse even though X-Wings and Tie-Fighters zip around like WWII fighters and one of the new Star Wars movies actually "dropped" bombs in space.
Go on. We're all nerds here. Tell us of the superiority of Star Wars.
Star Wars is very much a typical "magical savior daddy" fantasy. That doesn't make it bad, but it's never gone beyond genre to approach real art. (Except maybe Andor). It's a teenage boy fantasy, start to finish.
Star Trek is a much more nuanced "lived" universe. There are badasses and heros, but few magical saviors. (Well, mostly. We shall not discuss the final two seasons of "Disco"). It's deeper, richer, and more grounded than Star Wars could ever be.
That being said... Star Wars has produced two of my all-time favorite games (KotoR and Battlefront 2...and I'm looking forward to Outlaws).
Star Trek, OTOH, has yet to produce a single great game. Resurgence was good, and fun, and nailed the Star Trek vibe. But it's a video novel/season one that lacked real gameplay. Bridge Commander was deeper, but it wasn't much fun ultimately.
Those of a certain age will understand when I mis-channel the Kinks and say "I want to live like a Klingon". Would that not be a badass game?

It's obviously a matter of taste, but there were a couple of Star Trek games that I found great for their time. Deep Space Nine: Crossroads of Time was one of my favourite Sega Genesis games. Deep Space Nine: The Fallen was perhaps not great, but good! Elite Force 2 absolutely blew me away when it came out and I replayed it many times over the decades to follow. I also found Bridge Commander really great for its time. Star Trek Online was also pretty fantastic when it came out.
None of these games have really held up with age, but I loved them at the time they came out :-)
Sadly there are hardly any good modern Star Trek games. Bridge Crew could have been a good concept, but wasn't well executed. Resurgence is probably the best Star Trek game in almost 10 years.
There is an imbalance in the force
Kill bad guys
Balance restored. Next.
To be fair, C3P0 talked and was just as annoying.
