Game will not start - Black Screen
Downloaded the game and if i am being honest was really enjoying the game and got about 3 hours playtime out of it last night and this morning. Since trying to play just trying to start the game up now i get a black screen and not responding on task manager. just wondering if anyone had similar problems and if there was a solution out there??

I have the same problem and can't find a solution for it.

All system requirements are correct and I played it for several hours.

I would also be grateful for a solution.

have not managed to find a solution to the problem and i have tried everything i can think of steam wont refund because of the fact i have more than 2 hours in the game. i have slao submitted 2 tickets to game customer service but had no respones so if you have any luck can you let me know??

Same here.... I actually couldn't even start the game once and I haven't found any solution either so far.

Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can often cause black screen issues when launching games. To update your graphics drivers, follow these steps:

Right-click on the Start menu and select “Device Manager.”
Expand the “Display adapters” section, right-click on your graphics card, and select “Update driver.”
Choose the option to search automatically for updated driver software.
Restart your computer after the driver update is complete.

I just bought the game today, and I'm having a similar issue when trying to play it for the first time,

Screen is black when I launch the game, but I hear music playing and UI noises when moving the mouse around, so the game is responsive, just not displaying visuals properly.

If I alt-tab out of the game I can hover the mouse over the taskbar icon and see a "preview window" showing the menu screen, but when I tab back into the game the screen goes black again.

All my divers are up to date so I am guessing this is a problem related to screen resolution? (my main monitor is a TV, so has a non-standard monitor resolution).

Is there perhaps a command-line argument I can use to launch the game in windowed mode, so I can at least fiddle with graphics options in the game's menu?

Game will not start for me. Task Manager shows it running as a background task but no app window opens.
'Play time' is logged for the background task even though the game itself doesn't opened.
I explained this in my refund request however it was refused due to the recorded play time, which is fictitious!

After some trial end error I manageed to find a workaround that appears to have fixed the problem for me:

1) while the game is running but displaying a black screen, press F11 to force it into windowed mode. You should be able to see the game while it's windowed.

2) open the game's settings menu, Un-tick "Fullscreen" then select your desired Screen Resolution from the dropdown. The game should now be displaying properly and filling your whole screen.

3) The game will save these settings, so you can exit and restart with it still displaying properly. But *do not* re-tick the "Fullscreen" setting or you'll be back to square one with a black screen again.

I hope this is helpful to other people.
