Demo save doesn't carry over to Retail

Figured I'll give it a shot, all things considered, and was sad to see the Demo save doesn't carry over to retail. A save file was present but in The Lower Decks save, effectively forcing me to replay from there, despite finishing the Demo. Since you can't skip cut-scenes, the next 30 minutes are going to such a drag.
