Cheers
My Steam Deck is all over the place (but totally playable IMO)
Yes, tv/movies majorly run at a max of 24 fps, but games and tv are not the same. Yes games are completely playable at 30fps, but objectively function and look better at a minimum of 60. I mean just jumping from 60 to 120+ with a proper monitor is noticeable when playing. Even if i could max out the graphics of a game i would wholeheartedly prefer turning down a few settings to get a stable 60+ fps than 30-45 fps.

Get this mod. It will unlock your framerate and it also fixes widescreen issues ( my FPS is now over 100)
If I remember correctly, PAL was running at 25 and NTSC at 60 black/white and 59,94 with colors. And even more fun, old movies for the cinema had 24.
Those were wild times.
Oh you can see lag in TV/movies at 24 to 30 fps, but it's FAR FAR FAR more noticeable in games. Any FPS under 60 now a days is considered poor performance for a game unless it's a 4k game on a console.
I'm running at 144 fps.
Just add the following to the engine.ini file under [SystemSettings]
t.MaxFPS=144
r.MaxFPS=144
This is what my section looks like. I disable all motion blur, dof, and chromatic abberation.
[SystemSettings]
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=0
r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0
r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
r.Tonemapper.Quality=0
r.SetRes=3840x2160
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
t.MaxFPS=144
r.MaxFPS=144
My engine.ini file is located here: C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\StarTrekGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Looks like it was because of the 60 fps lock. There's nothing wrong with my pc, I have a i9 9900k and a 3080 FE. I haven't had any real issues with running anything in a long while.
I'll check that out. Thanks
