[Solved]"Not optimum resolution mode"
So my crappy computer can't run this game well at naive resolution, that's ok, I can just lower th-NOPE. Monitor says naive or bust.
Now I can't change the resolution from in-game because it just black screens and says it's not at optimum resolution. I tried deleting and redownloading the settings file, I tried multiple launch options to force the game into 1920x1080, such as "-w 1920 -h 1080" and "r:1920x1080"; nothing worked.
I have not tried reinstalling the whole game and I don't want to, my internet isn't the best and it would take 4 hours, minimum.
This is frustrating, I like the game so far and it hasn't crashed or whatever other people are reporting, please halp.
Danke.
Minor edit: this is the only game that's done this to me. Granted I run most games at naive, but still.

Change the resolution of your desktop to whatever you are trying to run it at. If you have under system requirements it very well might not run since those with above specs can't run it. I runs well on my system that meet minimum system specs (HD 5850).

Well that sounded like a great idea, but it also didn't work. Who knows why. Thanks for trying though.
Edit: I did get the thing to run for a while, it's not crashing, my monitor is causing a black screen when I tried to lower the resolution to up my frame rate. The game is still actually running, but I can't see ♥♥♥♥.

You could try setting the game to windowed mode and see if it launches, window mode enables its own seperate resolution setting which may help you get around this problem.

You can alter the file "settings.ini" (which you will find in /steamapps/common/lords_of_the_fallen/) to turn on windowed mode by changing "fullscreen = true" to "fullscreen = false", this should cause the game to launch in a 1280x720 window.

edit- Obviously if you do edit the file make sure you save it exactly as it is, don't change the format or anything, it must be "settings.ini", not a txt file or something like that.

This sounds like a great idea too. But it didn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work. I even tried setting the windowed resolution to my naive afterwards. God this is extremely frustrating.
Thanks for trying though.

I solved it. Setting it to windowed in the settings file and then alt tabbing when the game opens makes it go into windowed and gets rid of the black screen. Thanks guys.
Edit: I must note that although I can run it now, the framerate is unplayably low. 20 or lower.

Wow, this topic is old. Back when I had a bad computer. You're welcome, I guess, but this didn't need to be necro'd at all.
