What does "DoT" mean in the poison debuff status?
I've got a flawless poison rune and it says Poison Debuff (DoT). What does it mean? Is poison effect any good in this game?

DoT quite literally is an acronym for "Damage over Time"

Oh right. Thanks.

So is the poison any good here? In most games, poison is pretty terrible.

I found it to be pretty terrible, but maybe someone else had better experience with it because I quit using it after seeing it so terrible (2,2,2,2,2) :)

Damage over time.
So it does damage every second for 10 seconds or so.
Try it out its free to change runes

its ok if you have a weapon with multiple sockets and put poison in all of them it stacks

For the record, I've put a flawless poison rune into My Axe. It does 10 poison damage per tick.

Poison damage seems to stack and from what i can tell is determined by the initial hit your weapon does, if u slot 3 flawless poison runes into the codex greatsword it makes for a excellent weapon for killing bosses.

Honestly, it may seen decent for rogues who tink away at a boss' health. But for other classes, when each weapon hit individually is 800+dmg or more critted, luck runes are the better slot, as they multiplicatively increase. Then throw on Amulet of the Betrayer and even bosses are like...uh...that died fast.

For instance, on NG+ I think I killed Beast in under a minute. Judge even faster than that. Polesword with luck slotted.
