Floor Switch in "The Pit" area in the Catacombs question

The switch on the floor opens the door situated immediately in the hallway next to it. This door is always locked and can only be opened when stepping on the switch. The problem is that switch goes back up as soon as you get off of it. I tried sprinting and taking all armor off and I'm simply too slow to reach it. Am I missing something here?

Use a spell to leave your doppelganger standing on the switch

I managed to leave an enemy there for a couple of seconds while I dodged his attack and ran for the door

If you keep trying to sprint to the door without using doppleganger ability, the door starts to bug out, prying open bit by bit every time you try to sprint through. Eventually it looks completely open but it has an invisble wall blocking you.
