SPOILER PSA: If you want a good weapon early, do this.

1. Obtain the key from the staircase after the first boss

2. Go back to the room you start in. At the top of the stairs, when you stare at the entrance you walked through in the cutscenes, there is a flowing piece of cloth with a ledge. Jump there.

3. Open the door at the end and find a 'Shard of the Heroes'

4. Before you kill the two guys to start the Commander fight, put the Shard into one of the three statues. Now start the fight and let the Commander take down the statue for you and kill him. Now loot either a pair of Daggers, a Sword or a Hammer. They need 16 in your main stat to use and destroy early game enemies.


If you don't want/need this weapon use the Shard later and you will be able to respec at the statue.

If you want a good weapon even earlier, kill the first warden without taking damage. You'll get an Orange Titled Persistence which does more damage, better scaling and the 1h heavy attack shoots a tremor and if you hit an enemy in melee range with the tremor you'll smack em for around 150ish.

Yeah, if you are a strength build. But most people can't do that without taking damage this early into the game on NG.

The weapons from the Judges are better than any you can find this early and got good scaling.
