Does this game have invincibility frames on dodge?
I'm fighting the commander right now and it seems I'm unable to dodge his shockwaves as well as some arching attacks. In Dark Souls you have a certain period of invincibility if you roll and can thus avoid taking damage if you time them correctly. Does this game have a similar mechanism, or does rolling only decrease your hitbox so you can roll under the hit tracers?

i would say that it doesn't have invincibility frames from what i've seen in videos.

it does have avoidance frames, where if you get clipped at the edge of your hitbox you won't get damaged or for example if you dodge through the ground shockwave of the commander, but if you get hit mid-roll straight on you will still take damage.

The tutorial says that you have invinability frames on the dodge but not on the wakeup.
ya you do. time it right. Hard to get used to after slow dark souls 2 roll. Basically roll into attack

yes, this has been said by the game itself, should have read those tutorial stuff maybe?^^

To be exact you are unhittable while rolling but not in the pre-roll animation or the stand up animation
