how to beat the big shield enemies?
Just defeated the worshiper, after that I went downwards and now I am stuck in that small hallway with the big shielded enemy, I can break his block with a shield bash, but he recovers so quickly by the time my character hits him, his shield is back up, I tried with fast and heavy weapons, didn't make a difference, if I carefully pace and dodge his 3 hit combo he recovers so fast and has his shield raised that my attack does nothing again, if I use the gauntlet or any magical spell it takes about 1/5 damage from him, and at my current level I can only use 2 spells with my mana pool before waiting an eternity for it to regenerate, so thats a very inefficient way to kill him, any tips? am I maybe in the wrong place? how did you guys beat this annoying prick?

I remember when I played, I used some combo with magic staff. I waited until shielded enemy run on me to strike and I did some combo to break his jump attack and do couple of free hits. Sorry cant remember in detail what i was do but you can experiment to find out for yourself. I hope this helps you!

the game is still rediculous to play The enamys are twice as annoying as Darksouls they will be stopped with an animation but as you get closer to attack they do the extra animation anyways instantly... its not a good design of game like DS its just hard for hards sake and its frustrating from someone thats played 300+ hours of darksouls games this annoyed me

Well not every game should copy DS mechanics. I kind hate DS battle mechanic becose of that. Its easy to get used to and exploit to your advantage. Only 2 things in my opinion this game do better then DS: its grafics and battle mechanic.

Ignore those large shield users. The game doesn't know how to pace itself and will just throw powerful enemies that are stronger than a boss into an area.

But otherwise just cheap kill them with the ranged glove. Then keep out of it's way.

What? Dark Souls is vastly superior in combat mechanics over this game.
Enemies just get too high HP.
You chip away at a boss health. All except the first so far have started to summon extra enemies.
Plenty of enemies are hitting faster with heavier weapons than you are hitting with daggers.
There are no resting times for enemies and will just continue to spam moves unless they use a shield.
Most enemies I've encountered so far have an attack that will stun you through your shield.
Weapons are just not growing in strength and I could very well just go around with my first daggers without a problem. Well with the exception of a new daggers that was a quest item.
There is an enemy that can jump attack, shoot ranged attacks, can attack when you're behind it and grab you from the front. He seems to pop up quite a bit.

The game just feels too cheap. It's trying its hardest to kill me. Dark Souls did that a few times, but this game tries to do it all the time.

Dark Souls gameplay mechanics where the best. They where fair but still hard. With knowledge you could do so much more. Dark Souls 2 was more cheap though. But the first Dark Soul was awesome. Each weapon actually felt somewhat useful.

I tried that, it hardly works, only time it does work is if they start swinging at me while im charging at them, if they decide not to swing I wasted all my stamina and they throw a combo at me

If all fail, use Great Axe and spam Strong Axe and then they die.

This is what I'm rocking

Parry them with a buckler shield, or put a fire rune on your gauntlet, it does great damage to them.

Wait for him to attack, then roll to the left or to the right, next roll behind him and hit. In protection magic there is spell that slows time. That helps alot. Or just hit him 3 times and he will put his shield for a second. If you have enought staminy - that will work.
