Similar games but w/o enemy respawn?
Everyone has a game mechanic they absolutely hate, whether it's save checkpoints, QT Events, or jumping puzzles, or whatever. For me, it's infinite enemy respawns. When I clear an area, I want it to STAY clear otherwise a game just feels pointless.

Honestly I like everything else about this game, but the respawns just freaking ruin it for me. :steamsad:

Are there any games out there with the aesthetic and style of Lords of the Fallen but without the endless enemy respawn BS?

That's a souls-like thing. If you die or rest at a checkpoint, most of the enemies respawn.

That's how it works in the soulslike genre. Nothing that can really be done about it.
But in Dark Souls II enemies stop respawning after being killed 12 times. Maybe that would be something for you. And it's a brilliant game. I'm replaying it for the 18th time right now.

you are thinking of it the wrong way. in most games were enemys dont respawn when you die its a reload a save or checkpoint. in this its different its a re-spawn. NOW i will say DARK SOULS 2 has a mechanic you will like, when you kill an enemy like 5 or 10 times then stop respawning. this can only be stoped by joining the champions covenent

Honestly I never knew that infinite respawns were part of the souls-like genre. LotF is my first game like this. I'll probably give Dark Souls 2 a try at some point since the respawn mechanic sounds more reasonable.

The perfect game (for me) would be something with the combat and RPG elements of Lords of the Fallen, but with a PERSISTENT world. Sort of like an Elder Scrolls game, but with reflex-based combat.

Anyway, thanks for the responses. I hate the respawns but I'll try to stick with it because otherwise I really like this game so far (just made it to the Worshipper boss).

Finished the game! I still don't like the respawn mechanic, but the combat was fun enough to keep me interested all the way to the end.

The only boss I had any real trouble with was the Keeper from the Labyrinth DLC. Good grief that was a tedious fight. Really enjoyed the game overall, though!

ye the dlc were disappointing. i hope you enjoy lords of the fallen 2 its got all the story elements with IMO much more fun combat with lots of spell verity you end up feeling like a real badass in the second game, you will be suprised how the story unfolds too if you liked the first game.
