LotF and DS2 were both released in 2014 so comparing those seem fair.

When it comes to graphics it's not even a contest, LotF is so superior it's laughable.

As for m+k support and proper PC interface, LotF also wins hands down, the Ds2 m+k port is horribly, horribly bad.

As for content, well there I think DS2 wins, it seems bigger from what I have seen so far.

Mythos/Lore/Mystery/Story, here Ds2 seem a thousand times better, it really draws you into it's world, while LotF main story is pretty bad, I gotta say.

Well that's my opinion so far, but I am just a noob in DS2 still, my opinion could change as I learn more. For now enjoying both games a lot though.

Dark Souls 2 is pretty horrible. The level design doesn't make sense. Mobs are placed in a way that becomes pointless and you're better off running past. The level design ignores good spots for shortcuts. The story is meh. Combat is clunky... Boss weapon hit boxes can sometimes be 3x the width of the weapon. Overall Lords of the Fallen is a better game than Dark Souls 2, bringing the story aside of course as they're both bad.

The only level design flaw I found in this game was at the last boss with the leaver hunt. That was beyond stupid.

Graphics are nice. Gameplay is a bit wonky and animations can be weird. The biggest issue why combat feels so slow, is that many weapons don't have an accelerated movement, as there would be when you swing a weapon, but rather keep the same speed from start to finish, making it feel without an impact and very slow. You've gotta find weapons that feel good to play with, that's increases the fun a lot.

At least Dark Souls autosaves when you enter a new area (I'm pretty sure DS3 does.) In this game I just lost over an hour of progress/exploring when it crashed. Good job devs.

I agree. For me Dark Souls is a solid 9.
This game is a 7 for me. So still a good game by my books.

I don't mind playing a lesser version of a great game, as long as the lesser is fun. And I've had fun with it.
