With the ornaments it is easier to smash them or blow them up and clean the mess from them. You can build towers of presents to get them down from the ceiling or just fly but don't forget those.
Also, don't forget to burn the lanterns in Santa's office, loft and barn. They blend in with scenery but they can be picked up so into the fire with them!
Christmas items should be- candles, ornaments, presents, toys, candy canes and hats (I think that's all of them) but why stop there. At that point you might as well burn the furniture, janitor trunk and radio. Do a ghost check under the map to make sure there isn't anything hiding under the floor before you clock out and you should be fine.
Sanitized earth is on of my favorites to repeat but it takes a long, long time. I can't do it all in one sitting so I have to leave the game running and come back to it.
Hang in there with the tower. I spent hours on that one and then saw a video where someone did it in less than 6 minutes. I copied him/her and it worked out. My best on my own was nine and it would always topple when I tried to get the tenth! That's where I developed my fondness for burning stools... just got really angry one day and they had to go.
okay ... will take your advice and keep trying on the Babel tower of those stupid stools ---- after I get the Sanitized Earth achievement.
Thx again!
Ive trying that KillNearestMess code, but maybe I doing it wrong way or not working. I type "st" and writing line appears. Then I write KillNearestMess (like a prompter offering) and enter. Its appear on screen and thats all - nothing else happens. Ghost or Fly - same - nothing happens.
And clock offering only shame or finishing job. Ive clean everything yesterday and finaly click on shame and ofcourse nothing happens - no achievmant about finish or sanitized. Now Im in same situation. Only shame or finishing job and nothing to do :(
What Im doing wrong?
The command prompt Ghost has helped tremendously, though. Got it to 9 friggin' stools and then they topple.
To answer your other questions:
I believe the problem you are having with KillNearestMess is that you're not setting up a key to "bind" to the command --- and you NEED to do that --- otherwise, I'm not sure how you're going to accomplish it.
(Note: Doesn't have to be "E" on your keyboard as I have stated below. I have read that some people bind their mousewheel to the command. So ... they would have typed: "SetBind MouseWheelDown KillNearestMess" -- withOUT the quotes and with the spaces surrounding whatever you're binding to the command ... be it a letter on your keyboard or the mousewheel+ whether you prefer up or down. I've never tried it, but there's no reason the mousewheel shouldn't work. I just used the "E" key as many others have used it with no problems. So, I figured if it isn't broken, don't fix it.)
ANYWHO ...
First, press tab to bring up the command prompt.
Then type the following: SetBind E KillNearestMess
Type it EXACTLY as I have above - NO quotes and there is one space before the letter E and one space after.
Finally, just press the letter "E" on your keyboard (over and over and over ... )
This will remove one small messy area that is nearest to you (whether it be directly above, below, beside you ... wherever). For lots of blood you need to press E over and over as it removes one layer at a time. It's is a great command (thank the devs for that!). Be wary of that elf hanging from the banister --- take care of him FIRST in case you accidentally break the ornaments below him. That way, you won't be too far into the game if you have to start over.
By pressing "E" while on one level, this WILL start to clean levels below and/or above you ... so be careful if you're trying NOT to break something! In that regard, use the Ghost command and fly up to remove ornaments, etc., in questionable areas (such as by the elf hanging from the banister) BEFORE you use the KillNearestMess command in case something falls and breaks a Christmas item.
In terms of the elf, you need to EITHER stand very close to the elf and very, very quickly press E over and over --- else, one of his body parts may fall and crash into an ornament, OR use the Ghost command and remove the ornaments first before initializing KillNearestMess - which, in my opinion, is the better option.
Don't worry about anything attached to the walls such as garland or the lanterns. Even though the garland is 'technically' a Christmas item, none of it can be removed. No worries. If any item is attached to a wall, etc., don't worry about it. Just make sure you get all the Christmas ornaments (easy to miss one because of all the colors). (Also, don't forget the candles on the shelves across from the fireplace and on the fireplace mantel!)
I was able to save all Christmas items and clean up the rest with KillNearestMess (with the help of the fireplace for other items) before I knew about the Ghost command. Once I found out about that ... it went VERY fast. You can view under floorboards, etc. If you see something there, stand directly above it and just keep pressing "E" if it is something that can be 'cleaned.' Otherwise, while in Ghost, take your mop and lob it outta there!!!
If you are trying to clean everything AND get rid of all Christmas items, burn everything not nailed down. I realize there are things that aren't considered 'Christmas' items but throughout the forums I noted there is some confusion with what is and isn't. So, I took EldaBerry's advice (above) and burned everything that wasn't nailed down after using KillNearestMess! Ghost command came in VERY helpful with that achievement! I was flying through that place chucking presents, etc., into the fire!!!!
And, yes, I agree ... that Sniffer thingy is crap. Tried it a couple times and found it useless. Never touched it since.
Hope this helps!!!
Yesterday Ive sniff all forums throuhg and through and - voilá - I did all achievements :-)
1. I missed one glass ball "in" tree pot. Completly hidden, fall there from tree. But Ive cross rooms still around and trying "catch" everything I can and find it. Lucky chance :-)
2. Everybody write about KillNearestMess, but nobody write how to activate at first. Not with "st" like me do it - its only multipleyer ingame conversation. But "tab" press. And thats all :-) Ive write two times KillNearestMess and clock write "GO HOME" :-D
So Ive complete all achievements :-)
About Babel tower. Ive found good japanese glue - build it beside stairs. Its proping the wall and have more stability. First 3 built from normal floor. After that take that big golden
Yap, my tower fall 2x in 5-6 phase, but after it no problem.
Worst part was jumping on paralel
Thank you for that, you could find the time to help and I hope I helped a bit with the tower
Glad you were able to finish all your achievements!!! :)

Do You try this one too?
Only other problem can be, than Your controls are too sensitive (Your moves in game are too quick and "long". Longer than You need and innaccurate for so precise task :( )
thx again!
I got that problem with Overlord 2. Runaway from jungle temple by quick slalom wallcrawling. Ill try hundred times, husbend after me trying hundred times. After that we try to find some walkthrough on YT, but everybody just saying - its horrible and nearly imposible.
After two month I was try it on old PC with XP and voila - on second time I done it! And thats it - win7 are too quick for it :-p
If You have any chance to try it on XP - just do it :-)
Also, I had to toggle Always Run off in the options, as the controller support isn't as good as in the full game.
As for the sanatized earth achieve - I was stuck on this for ages. Used ghost to fly under the house to make sure no objects had fallen through the floorboards but still nothing. I ended up burning all the chairs and lamps and toggled through the different colour modes (F7). Increasing brightness via F7 revealed a bloody footprint that I had missed. Cleaned that up and got my achievement.
