New patch fixed a lot...still crashes
To start with, on a high end PC, it ran ok but frame gen and dlls was broken. The crashes were bad, many BSOD.
After this patch, it ran how I wanted it to, looked great, I thought I could sit down and play it. I paused the game, went for a drink, came back, full system lock, had to restart my PC because I paused the game.
Still broken.

BSOD or full PC locks are an issue on your PC, always. Software / Games do not cause BSOD's, they only expose issues your PC already had, be it hardware, drivers or temperature related.
Could also be your PSU not outputting enough power.

check your temps
When you start out saying you're on a 'high end' machine, but don't actually post your specs, you're most likely playing on a donkey.

Temps are great. EVERY other game works great, Spider Man 2 is the only game that does this and there are lots of others that get full system hangs/crash/BSOD from this game.
It might just be the game, it might just be the crap/broken Nvidia driver they rushed out, or it might be both.

On a RTX 4090, Ryzen 7800x3d same thing happen to me this morning. please the game came back system was frozen and restart was needed. This is not a hardware problem temps are fine and all stress test I've ran pass.

AMD CPU, nuff said right there, that's the reason, they suck for gaming almost always, get intel and never look back.

24 years of building my own PCs, trying team blue, team red, team green products. The worst has been AMD GPUs, The best early on CPUs was Intel, but in the last 4 years, AMD has been my pick and at this rate, I have no intention to go back to Intel.

This issue is the game or the rushed Nvidia driver (which is causing a load of crap for people if you look it up) or a mixture of both. Its that rushed that there is 5090Ds in China getting bricked by it.

intel sucks for gaming, you need to know that :) 9800X3D is actually the best cpu for gaming

Same here, still crashes after patch!!

I don't understand why people automatically turn around and say games won't cause a BSOD on the PC but drivers can. Surely anything installed on a PC could potentially cause a BSOD. The sheer number of people reporting the same errors makes it highly unlikely that everyone's hardware is suddenly causing BSODs. Let's hope developers pull their fingers out and actually fix the problems ASAP for people. I've only had one crash so far, but I've deliberately avoided updating to the latest Nvidia driver and am still using version 566.36.

Ah yes you should use the latest Intel CPUs which are widely known to be reliable and not cause tons of issues.

The funny thing is, that statement would be valid if you were using a time machine to post from 2011 or 2012. The AMD CPU's of that era (when Intel was absolute king) sucked. But today it's the opposite, Intel stagnated and re-released the same product for 2 generations only increasing power usage, and then released a new architecture that is utterly terrible and completely bombed to the point where the company is in danger of bankruptcy.

AMD is absolute king of gaming right now. The 9800X3D is a good 25-40% ahead of ANY Intel CPU in gaming. It's not even a contest. Intel is literally not relevant at all in the gaming space right not.

But go ahead and fanboy. I've owned Intel CPU's when they were on top. I've owned AMD CPU's when they were on top. So I generally have the best of whatever is available for gaming. But stick with your current Intel CPU's that either perform terribly or cook themselves. :) The last good product Intel had was Alder Lake in 2021.
For the love of god the crashing has nothing to do with the hardware and honestly the game. Do a clean DDU uninstall of the latest driver and roll back to the hotfix driver from december 566.45, no more crashing after that. Nvidia really messed up the driver!

The GAME crashing is the game and not the hardware. BSOD's and full system crashes are not the game, they are driver or hardware related. You're conflating different issues.

If the game crashes and comes up with the Sony error reporting window...sure, that's a problem with the game. If you're getting BSOD's or reboots or full system crashes, that is NOT the game and is either something with your hardware or the driver.
