The difference being that even modern CPUs are struggling with the game. If you have anything that is old enough to not support AVX2, you realistically can't play anyway. Unless you enjoy a 10FPS experience. The translation layer would need additional CPU power as well, so you might not even see that much in a lot of scenes.
